~
She was sitting down in her office, completing some pending work. A big smile rested on her face which seemed to be a lot unusual lately.
Her manager seemed to be relieved too. She was kinda worried about her, her face was not normal till now. She always seemed to look so off and depressed, and the fact that whenever she asked her about that, she always said ' I am okay. Don't worry. ' yeah ofcourse.
She looked too focused in her work today and attended the meetings with full interest. Whatever was bothering her, she was glad it didn't at that time.
Last night, Ambrose came back from Felix's house, she had the biggest smile on her face. Her dad seemed to be kinda concerned though.
He had no idea why his daughter had burst on him when he knew he wasn't at fault. Their companies had been doing this for some time now then why did it bother her today?
She also had a talk with Ian. He seemed to be more than happy with it. He saw his best friend with that sad face which he couldn't handle at a point.
She just kept thinking of that one thing and whenever he advised her to meet him once, she just shrugged it off by saying
' Not possible Ian. I don't need him anyways. ' yeah right.
" Hey you home? " the hall looked dark and silent. No lights were on, only the moon seemed to give them some light. The whole house had slept.
" Yes dad." she was glad that he couldn't see her face at that time. He would surely know there was something happening.
" Dad I am sorry for raising my voice..... It's just... I felt bad for them for some reason." She really did not want to stutter but she couldn't help it. Her dad might have noticed it. She wasn't lying though, she really felt bad.
" It's okay, I understand. You just have to understand that they are our rivals since you were not even born." he was right though. But the way she looked at him now had just changed. And she knew she won't look at him with the hatred her father wanted her to.
" Yeah I know." she looked down at the soft carpet laying below her. Suddenly it seemed as the most interesting thing on the planet at that time. She didn't want to look in his eyes even though it was dark, she knew her dad will catch the lie.
She needed some sleep at that time but she knew she just won't get that anytime soon. She was so weirdly satisfied. She was happy that she told him about it and they felt the same.
She just couldn't forget that smile on his face when she confronted him. She knew things were gonna get ugly when their dads know about this but she cared less.
She really wanted to give it a try and didn't want to force things out just because of their families. She just wanted to stop hating that guy, which she did now.
She was scrolling through an email which she got recently from another CEO of their group's other branch. The guy was also a young CEO and often asked for tips. Her phone made noises which distracted her from the mail.
What's up Bechtel?
Ofcourse it was him. He had that weird habit of disturbing her when she was busy. Not that she complained though.
I was busy McCoy.
I know you can take out some time for me ;)
Cocky Ass
What do you want.
Yes. She tried to ignore the message but couldn't, and she just had to reply once she saw it.
Nothing. Just messing
She rolled her eyes, irritated by this guy. She knew he was laughing back there. She knew he had something to say but was just messing.
