"But, Guy is certainly unique." She laughed, somehow she and Kakashi ended up for drinks in a bar. It was just about nightfall and a colorful drink was on her hand. "His personality is, so intense." Kakashi chuckled, swirling his drink in the glass with the ice clinking. "Didn't you sense that when you met him?" Ai shrugged, she had become slightly tipsy despite declaring earlier that, "I won't drink that much. Maybe one or two since I do things that usually strip me of my dignity when I'm drunk. Like you know those people that you don't recognize when drunk? I'm kind of like that."

"I kind of did. It's hard to miss and as the saying goes, 'First impressions last longer..." Her cheek pushed up against her palm and her face as she stared at him. She drank another shot and ordered another as she giggled. Kakashi gulped watching her down drinks like it were coffee.

'At least, it's not a drink that's too strong. But if she keeps drinking like this, it'll be bound to hit her later.'

"Don't you think maybe you should slow down? Didn't you say, you're a completely different person when you're drunk?" Kakashi told her as a passive joke. 'It kinda explains why you were so...bold when we met.' She shrugged and then after a few moments giggled to herself. Her new drink was placed in front of her. She said, "Well, I just realized that the guy I liked for almost a decade now isn't the guy I like. I mean, I had a change of heart. So, I figured I'd drink a few more."

Then, she looked at him with her eyes narrowed. "Anyway.." She began to slur. Ai pouted, her index finger pointed at Kakashi's mask right half an inch from his lips catching him off guard. "I want to see your face. I'm so curious, it's killing me." She whined. Kakashi was flustered, hidden well by the dim light and his skin-tight mask.

He looked away from her, there was blaring music in the background and the lights, flickering and all about made him feel dizzy. "Hey, Ai. I'm curious," Kakashi began to ask to divert her attention elsewhere and change the subject. "Why.. why me?" But it had been a question he'd been wanting to ask. Something that had been plaguing him for days on end. A question that accompanied the thought of her.

'I admit that I can say we know each other but, ever since meeting her a few months ago I don't know much about her except for her name. But Ai is so open to me. About her feelings and her thoughts... As if we've known each other our whole lives.  I feel so comfortable and compatible with her and around her.'

Her blue eyes blinked twice, head tilting and then she asked him with the most gullible of expressions that made him feel lightheaded, "What do you mean Kakashi?" He scratched the back of his neck in habit and then he elaborated, "You tell me your feelings and you ask me your questions. It's just, I don't understand. Why me?" And when she looked down, with her eyes welling up in tears that never fell and the most forlorn of expressions. So lonely and desperate. His guard cracked.

"Does it make you uncomfortable? I'm sorry. I'll stop." Immediately, Kakashi burst out. "No!" He frantically waved his hands no, almost falling out of his seat from his outburst. He leaned closer to her smelling the alcohol on her breath with his keen sense of smell. "I didn't mean it like that. In fact, I like it.. when you rely on me."
