'Did that Anbu... he knocked Kiba out.'
Areayis turned frantically to Nhira but the witch's serene expression made her realize one thing.
'She knows.'
"Witch, do something!" She whispered, shaking Nhira, whose eyes were glued to the match happening but the redhead didn't budge.
At that moment, Areayis realized that Nhira truly was a creature like her. She was detached from her homeland and even as it began to crumble, she seemed fine to let it break.
"I can't believe you."
"Your Highness," Areayis stilled. It was the first and only time the witches had addressed her so. Nhira's crystal clear blue eyes still did not look at her. But the peace reflected in them with the coming doom seemed so sad.
"A word of advice, do nothing. Don't be involved, after all even if you wear their clothes and dance as they do. Talk as they do, act as they do, you are still an outsider. That fact will never change.
If you do decide to help, don't get caught. You can't help, you know that getting exposed would do more harm than good."
Nhira then watched Areayis sprint away, whether she listened to her words or not was out of Nhira's control.
She could hear the crowd gasping as electric sparks began to shoot up from Sasuke's arm. The amalgamation of chakra was so intense and dense that it actually took on a physical form.
And she felt a sense of pride at the fact Sasuke had learned such a technique. The only weapon in the Copycat ninja's arsenal to be original.
"Well done, Sasuke."
'Maybe I'll let Itachi know. He'll be proud.'
And to see it in action, she watched closely as the blade penetrated the sand. Something strange happened, resonating in the air that even from a distance she could feel the oddness of it.
Blood wafting in the air.
'What, what was that?'
She remembered Areayis's remark about the Sand boy being marked and she briefly thought it was that but, 'No, no it isn't. This doesn't seem like the work of the others.'
And as the grotesque arms slithered out and the sand barrier cracked did she recognize the red-haired child. 'It's the Jinchuuriki of the Sand.'
It was one of the Sand's most valued secrets, as did all the villages with their own Jinchuuriki. It was only after a few stints in the Sand village did she came across that information, she had almost forgotten it.
'So if they actually do this right, they might succeed.'
But that realisation came with one more dreadful thing. 'That Naruto would have to fight, no, the Nine Tails Jinchuuriki would have to repel the One-Tailed Jinchuuriki... and as things stand... that boy would kill Naruto if he had the chance.'
"Ha, so it's come to that."
"You've already made your decision, stop hesitating."
