"If you've realised I'm not in control put me down already!"

'There!', Kakashi screamed in his mind as something a glimpse of her was seen. A ball of fire went spiralling her way burning everything in its path down.

Another torrent of fire fell upon her and left her no escape, Kakashi couldn't help but praise the stranger at his skill and the calculated decisions he made.

How easily he cornered her, of course, not that easily.

Areayis gasped, watching a thin layer of chakra peel of from Nhira's skin that had honestly been horrifying to watch.

A straight almost back chain shot off through the ball of fire, nicking Rayi by the leg. His kunai redirect it but the blade shattered.

Nhira jumped out of the fire, unburnt.

She recognised Itachi through his disguise. The short black hair and caramel coloured skin that had gotten them out of trouble through their travels past the Cloud village.

"Nhira, let me help you." His voice cool and calm, a stark contrast to the heat of the fire he brought.

"Please.." She mouthed, with the meaning only the two of them knew. A drizzle of water fell over the fire before it became a torrent of rain and steam covered the area.

Areayis, covering Kakashi's line of sight to hide the fact that Itachi's eyes were red. The Mangekyo Sharingan blazing, black flames arising.

Nhira stopped, trapped in a circle of fire. Her muscles twitching, her mind and body fighting against each other. Itachi approached her, his hand raised.

'Something's not right. I can't break her out of it... Yet this jutsu seems familiar.'

He saw the flicker of a nod of her head as she raised her head, presenting her fair neck for the clean, quick kill.

She fought against her body to stay still, to give Kakashi the only chance to help her. His  black kunai glinting from the dull light of the black flames.

"No!" Areayis's soft, clear voice rang out. Stopping him just before he cut her jugular. That single moment cost almost Itachi his left eye.

A wall of firm earth separated them, Itachi used his eyes firmly to deactivate his Sharingan. However, he also realised the reason why normal methods didn't work.

'It's the Kotoamatsukame.'

Nhira leapt back and turned an she fled from the scene. Areayis attempted to give chase but was stopped when Itachi grabbed her arm and subtly shook his head.

That's when the Copycat Ninja swooped past them, hot on her tail. They got far enough away that no e of the burning flames could be seen and yet she never once turned to look at him.

Nhira stumbled and fell asleep bouts of earth blocked her way. She couldn't even keep up with the signs Kakashi weaved. He struck her, blow after heavy blow.

The wind and the earth clashed and met in eclipses as earth and water exploded in all directions.

'In a battle of attrition, it'll come down to my stamina or her chakra. I'll have to keep forcing her to use chakra eating jutsu.'

Kakashi noticed too, that although genjutsu was one of her best assets that she hadn't used them on him. He rationalized it to the fact that she was cautious of his Sharingan and that she knew he'd be prepared for it.

"Nhira!"

He called out once more but none of his words seem to come through to her. She attacked him relentlessly as if she didn't recognise who he was.
