LOOK AFTER YOU

I woke up the next morning in a crowd of pillows and the softest comforter. I stretched then placed my feet over the edge of the bed, making my way to put on my slippers. I entered the bathroom to brush my teeth and fix my hair before heading down stairs.

"Ahhhh sleeping beauty decided to grace us with her presence" Kol beamed.

In the kitchen downstairs I could see Kol and Josh standing around a counter.

"Good morning Caroline." Josh smiled.
"Good-morning, where's everybody else at?" I asked looking around.

"Everyone else or Nik?" Kol teased
"Everyone Kol..." giving him a side eye.
"Well Nik and Elijah had some business to tend to this morning and Marcel tagged along." He continued as he drank his tea.

"Well well well if it isn't the love of Nik's life."
I heard an all to familiar voice behind me.
"Hello Rebekah, I prefer Caroline." I said with heavy sarcasm.
"Come to use my brother again for your own little plaything..." pouring herself a cup of tea.

"No actually I was invited here as a guest for the summer." I pressed, trying not to let her get to me.

"Pipe down Rebekah, Its like 8am." Hayley said coming from the staircase. She looked like she hadn't slept much.

"Hi Caroline" she said walking up to me.
"Hi..... how are you feeling?" I said concerned.
"I take it Klaus told you about everything." As she opened the fridge to look around.
"Yes he did." I said softly.
"Look if it makes you feel any better we're just coparenting." She turned to face me.
"What ? Oh no I'm ok , I'm fine." I said trying not to sound obvious.

"Where the bloody hell are all the butlers!!" Rebekah yelled.
"Probably heard you barking and fled town.." Kol said from the dining room.
"Oh shut it Kol! Go make yourself useful and fetch them." Annoyed with her brother.

"Ill go." Josh said getting up to go find them.
"Has our brother caught you up to speed on things." Rebekah said.

"Just some witches drama and a crazy ex with a revenge plot to get rid of you guys." I replied.

"Genevieve was hardly an ex more of ONE of Nik's toys." She smirked trying to get a rise out of me.
"One of?" I questioned.

"Well there's Genevieve of course......and Cami." She grinned.

I kept a straight face, but wondered who Cami was or if she was still around.

"Well thats nice, I'm going upstairs to change and freshen up." I didn't want to entertain her anymore.
I got to my room and shut the door. Did I make a mistake coming here, I was so overwhelmed.

I was startled by knock as I exhaled loudly and opened it.
"You ok?" Hayley stood in my doorway.
"Yea I'm fine." I sighed with a smile.
"Rebekah will come around she's just being Rebekah." Hayley smiled.

" Yea a She Devil." I scoffed moving to my bed.
"If you want we can head out to town to grab something to eat." She suggested.
"Sure that sounds like a plan, give me a second to get ready and I'll head down."

Hayley smiled and nodded. We both got ready to grab breakfast and made our way to the door.

"And where do you two think you're going." Kol appeared from the lounge room.

Out Kol....." Hayley said firmly.

Not just the two of you, I'll grab my jacket and follow close behind." He moved toward the coat rack.

"Are we not suppose to be out and about?" I said confused.
"Get use to it Caroline." Hayley said with her arms folded. "They won't let you out of their sight"

"Actually I dont want to be responsible if all hell breaks loose and your darling babydaddy wants to kill me for letting you two go alone." Kol said leading the way out the door.

We got into town, had breakfast and shopped around a bit. Kol hung back keep a close eye though.
I reached into my purse for my phone since it was ringing, Klaus was calling.

"Hello."
"Caroline! Where are you ." He did not sound happy.
"Out with Hayley and Kol your compelled butlers were nowhere to be found so we left to grab food and shop."
"Get home now." He growled as he hung up.

"Was that the Warden." Hayley chuckled.
"Unfortunately yes and he didnt sound happy." I looked over at her worried.
"When is he ever, I'm just glad Elijah will be there to keep him in control." Her gaze staring off into the distance.

"Ladies while its been fun we need to go now." Kol urgently sped our way.

"What's going on ?" I asked Kol.
"We're being watched .... There" he nodded his head over to the gift shop.

I peered over towards to see a 2 witches, one of them was elderly.
"Thats Sabine and the other one next to her is Bastiana.. she's an elder and a member of the ancestors." Kol said quietly.

Sabine had this smug look on her face smiling, and Bastiana was stone faced.

"Lets go." Kol demanded.

We hurried toward the car and got in. As we were about to back out I felt this immense pain surge through my brain. Kol grabbed his head groaning in pain as did I. I could barley open my eyes from the excruciating pain.

I could here chanting from outside the car as Hayley was screaming in a fetal position. The witches were standing right ahead walking towards us with their hand out. All of a sudden a young girl appeared and began to chant in front of the car facing Sabine and Bastiana. The wind was moving all around violently as the young girl began to chant louder till Sabine and Bastiana were thrown back. I released my hands from my head as the pain faded away. The two witches were gone, nowhere to be found.

"You guys alright?" Kol said out of breath.
"Yea im good." I said breathing heavily.
Hayley nodded .
"Who is that?" As I looked around

Kol smiled looking in front of the car. "Davina." He grinned.
