I'll Never Forget You

HERE WITHOUT YOU

I ran to the edge of the hallway downstairs to a room when I heard glass shatter loudly right behind me. I quickly shut the door and put a chair under the knob and ran to a window trying to pry it open. It was stuck as I tried hard to jiggle it back and forth.

The handle started to turn on the door like someone was trying to get inside. I glanced over and saw the knob turning violently and began to panic. There was a loud banging sound coming from the other side of the door, whoever was there was definitely coming in. I looked around to try and find something anything to defend myself with but the room was pretty empty.

The door broke open as I ran to the bathroom to shut it, a figure quickly vamp sped after me. He pinned me up against the wall, it was Lucas one of Marcels vampires. His grasp was firm against my neck choking me as I gasped for air, but why were Marcels vampires attacking us?

"Lucas........ its me... Caroline." I fought to say. Just then he froze and fell to the ground. I felt his grip loosen and let go. It was Josh standing there with Lucas's heart in his hand.

"Caroline you ok?" He said grabbing me and taking me out of the bathroom. "We have to go I'm going to get you out of here. Mikael compelled some of Marcels vampires outside to attack. It's an all out war zone outside, here take this." He gave me a broken long piece of wood from the door.  We ran down the hall and from the window I could see Bonnie and Davina outside trying to help the crescent pack and vampires outside.

"Where's everyone else?" I asked

"By the staircase trying to keep them from coming up, Hayley and Elijah are up there keeping them away from Hope. We cant go out the front so I'm going to take you out the back way."

"Ok." I nodded as he grabbed my hand and led the way. "Josh watch out!!!"

A vampire vamp sped down the hall after us followed by 3 more. He turned quickly as the vampire attacked him. I ran over to try and help but was tackled to the ground, I fought as hard as I could screaming trying to reach for my wooden piece during the struggle when he went flying off me. I opened my eyes and saw Klaus standing over me bloodied.

He picked me up "I got you love." He said quietly.

Josh ran in front as another vampire came, Klaus made his way toward the back when all of a sudden I fell to the floor. Klaus groaned with agony as I lifted my head to see him clenching this huge shard of wood coming through his lower abdomen. It was Mikael and another witch, she began to chant as Josh and Klaus both grabbed their heads.

Klaus had pools of blood spilling out of his mouth. I looked into Mikaels face, I could tell he was enjoying this. Another vampire came and yanked me by the hair as I screamed, Klaus was trying his hardest to get up as he saw everything happening around him. It felt like slow motion, the vampire turned me toward Josh as I saw Mikael pick him up.

I cried out trying to get free to help him, "No! no please dont!!!! Stop please! I pleaded with tears.

Mikael glanced my way and smiled as he reached into Josh's chest and ripped his heart out. He let go as Josh fell limp to the floor.

I screamed for him as I cried uncontrollably, they dragged me out the back as Mikael followed behind. I didn't even know if Klaus was ok, I just yelled and tried to fight back in hopes that someone anyone would hear me and come but no one did.

I was thrown into the back of the car and everything went black.

I opened my eyes slowly trying to move but couldn't because I was chained to the floor. I began to panic as I realized I had been taken by Mikael. I tried freeing myself but nothing worked the cuffs around my wrists were tight.

I had no idea what their plans were for me, I reached for my necklace on my neck and it was gone. It must have gotten ripped off during one of the struggles.

The door opened and I scooted back up against the wall sitting down.

"You've awakened , good." Mikael said.

I didnt reply back I just stayed quiet, flashes of what he did to Josh went through my head and I began to cry.

"Don't cry my dear..... im not here to kill you , yet." He smiled walking over to me slowly crouching down to lift my face.

I jerked it away from his hand as he scoffed right after I did that.

"Your downfall Caroline, was involving yourself with that worthless beast, Genevieve gave you the opportunity to walkaway and yet you chose to stand by Niklaus."

"He'll come for me...." I replied staring at him furious.

"I welcome it, I want him to and when he does... I would love nothing more than to watch him suffer. You're merely here to lure him in, unless I decide to change my mind."

"You're a monster." I spat out.

He laughed and then swatted me with the back of his hand hard enough to where my ears rang. My mouth was bleeding as I looked back up at him.

He pulled out his phone "As a matter of fact let's have some fun now." He let it ring and put it on speaker phone.

"Hello" I heard Klaus speak over the phone, he sounded distraught.

"Did you really think she was safe with you ... boy."

"If you so much as touch a hair on her head I will.."

"You'll what!!!!" Mikael yelled. "Even now I can hear the fear in your voice over your precious Caroline. Your feeble attempt at trying to make a life , you are poison Niklaus and anyone foolish enough to care for you will always pay the price. You have no one to blame but your wretched miserable self"

The line was silent, "Klaus!!!" I called out but was struck again as I screamed in pain.

"Don't touch her!!!!" Klaus shouted "Why dont you come for me Mikael or are you hiding behind your witches."

"In time, boy for now I'm going to enjoy my time with Caroline." He hung up and walked out.

I broke down as I tried to stay as calm as possible but nothing worked. I didn't know what was going to happen, all I knew was Klaus would come for me and it terrified me to think of the bloodshed that was to come.
