I'll Never Forget You

I sat up quickly "Are you sure?"

Vincent smiled "I mean I dont have an ultrasound picture to show you but yes I am 1,000% sure."

"How is this possible? I'm human he's supernatural."

"Well he's part wolf and they are technically living breathing creatures." Vincent answered.

"So will the baby be a hybrid or?"

"Well thats still up in the air Caroline. I know what it can't be and thats a vampire. The cure runs through you making that side non existent. So you have human, werewolf, witch or possibly a mixture of those, but we will find out soon."

I was in shock staring at Vincent as he explained it to me. "Don't tell Klaus yet he has enough to worry about."

Vincent didn't seem to agree but went along with it "That's fine and all but you do have to tell him Caroline, the baby can't hide forever."

"I know ... thank you for coming."

He nodded and headed out. I shut that door behind him as I glanced over and saw Hayley smiling.

"Whats so funny." I asked her.

"Hopes going to have a little brother or sister."

I grinned and relaxed slightly "Now he really wont want me going outside without him."

"Can I ask you for a favor? Hayley mentioned. "Elijah and I wanted to go out, is it ok to leave Hope with you and Klaus?

"Yea of course ."

"Thanks." She hugged me and went up stairs.

I scurried up with her to the nursery to see Klaus holding Hope.

"We're on baby watch tonight." I teased.

He let out a little smile "I dont think it's considered babysitting if its my own daughter."

"You know what I mean Klaus." I couldn't help but get this warm feeling of happiness seeing him just be a father. No paranoia, anger, scheming just him enjoying time with his daughter.

He picked up Hope's tiny little hand and kissed it. My heart fluttered thinking about our future baby on the way.

He walked with me over to our room as we saw Hayley and Elijah leave out the front door. He placed Hope on the bed and we sat right next to her.

"You've really changed." I said softly looking at him just so in love.

"I just want to be the father I never had. I want her to grow up knowing I would do anything to keep her out of harms way." He dangled one of her toys in front of her.

"She will, I know you are going to be an amazing father." I wanted to tell him so bad about our baby but I figured I would wait just a little longer.

"I'm having Vincent, Kai and Davina move in soon, incase these witches decide to show face." He said.

I picked up Hope and sat her on my lap cradling her. "I think thats a great idea."

Kol came darting in fast scaring me "Nik there's a package on the doorstep with yours and Carolines name on it."

I looked at Klaus confused.

"Stay here with Hope." He cautioned walking out with Kol.

I stood there holding Hope closely as they went to check it out. Who would send something at this hour, I decided to slowly walk out to the edge of the banister to try and see what was going on.

Klaus vamp sped up dialing rapidly on his phone "Marcel get here now and bring Joshua." He hung up and walked past me.

"What's going on?"

Klaus looked agitated and all strung up. He gave me the note that was attached to the package, it read "A Heart For A Heart." My mouth dropped, "Who's?"

"Aidens...." Klaus said softly looking down.

"Oh my god, does Josh know?"

"I'm assuming hes not aware." He replied.

Tears slowly trickled down my face at the thought of Josh's reaction.

Marcel and Josh got here quickly "What happened?" Marcel asked Klaus.

Klaus looked over to Josh "Im sorry." He said as he gave Josh the note.

He opened the blood splattered paper and read it. "A Heart For A Heart?" He said out loud confused. He looked at Marcel then Klaus.

"It's Aidens...." Klaus answered.

Josh dropped the note as I ran toward him handing Hope over to Klaus.

"He's..... He's dead?" His voice breaking as his eyes began to water.

I wrapped my arms around him as tight as I could catching him as he broke down in my arms.

Marcel was frustrated pacing around "That's it we need to do something! No more waiting around."

"Marcel if we act hastily it could result in an all out war with far more casualties." Klaus warned

"So we sit back and do nothing?!" He yelled.

"You and Joshua will stay here, I have Davina and them coming soon we need to stick together." Klaus calmly spoke in Marcels ear.

Marcel just glared at Klaus then walked away.

I made eye contact with Klaus as I was consoling Josh. I could see the worry in his eyes as he just stared back at me.

Klaus stayed with Hope and I kept Josh company as we sat on the bed in a spare room. He had his hand on his head still in disbelief  "I just don't know why..." he said.

"I don't either Josh, I'm so sorry. I really am..." rubbing his back.

"He was innocent, he did nothing in all of this." He sniffled.

"I know nothing I say will take your pain away.. I just want you to know I'm here and I'll never leave you. I love you Josh."

"I love you to Caroline." He said hugging me crying.

Marcel decided to room with Josh so he wasn't alone.

I saw Klaus catching Elijah and Hayley up on the news.

Elijah was in deep thought "So what now Niklaus? Surely they cannot go unanswered."

"You and Marcel sound like a bloody broken record .. they wont, we will retaliate but I do not want them knowing about our secret siphon weapon yet. If they are aware we contain a witch that can siphon and channel their own magic we lose. We need to stick together, now is not the time to be at odds with one another."

"Lets just hope we do not have to lose another in the mean time" Elijah replied as he walked out.

Klaus looking defeated made his way toward me "How's Joshua?"

"He's not doing so good." I whispered as I laid my head on his chest. He wrapped his arms around me rubbing my hair.

"Once we are all here under one roof we can watch over one another Caroline."

"I know... I trust you Klaus.... Lets go to bed." We walked up the stairs together hand in hand. Today the witches won .... But tomorrow was a new day.
