THIS YEARS LOVE

"Caroline." Elena called from the kitchen.

"Hey Elena." I entered into the kitchen and found Bonnie, Stefan and Damon there with her.

"Have a seat Carebear." Damon patted the seat next to him.

"You guys are up to something." I looked around at them suspicious.

"Well the Mikaelsons are planning a huge dinner for all of us to spend time before....." Stefan paused.

"Before we fight the witches." I finished.

They all looked at each other and stayed quiet.

Yea....we wanted to go do something together just us, you know like old times." Stefan suggested.

"I think that would be amazing." I beamed from ear to ear. A day with just my friends like back in Mystic Falls hopefully minus the chaos.

I started to get ready and played some up beat music while I did some dancing and singing.

"Someones in a rather delightful mood." Klaus replied in the doorway.

"Just trying to make the most of today before tomorrow." I sighed.

"You know regardless of what happens tomorrow, I will insure you leave this battle alive."

"What does that mean ?" I asked.

"Don't worry love, I've got it covered." Walking away.

"Klaus!"

He stopped and turned around.

I repeated again in a more stern tone. "What does that mean."

He exhaled then told me "Everyone knows that you are to be protected at all costs.... No matter what."

"You're insane you know that, no one is dieing to make sure I stay alive Klaus. I can't believe you would even ask them to do this."

He lowered his head down in frustration "The only way I will allow and yes Caroline I did say allow you to be apart of this is if you remain alive."

I gave him the side eye and began walking past him "This conversation isn't over, I'm going to enjoy my time with my friends... I suggest you rethink your strategy."

I left him to think about this crazy plan he wanted to execute that I definitely was not behind at all.

When we got into town we hit up this local pub and got a booth.

"I am starving." Bonnie said picking up the menu skimming over it.

"Me too." I agreed.

"I'm glad we're all together." Elena smiled her eyes starting to glaze over as if she was to cry.

"Lets not get all mushy or Debbie downer, let's drink and have a good time." Damon winked. They compelled the waitress to serve us drinks and shots, as we ordered endless appetizers.

"Remember that one time we tried to teepee Matts house and got caught." Bonnie laughed.

"Or what about the time we had to call the fire department because Elena forgot about the pizza we made in the oven." I leaned over grabbing my stomach from laughing so hard.

Stefan and Damon reminisced about the old times and everyone was having a blast.

We finished and headed out standing by the car.

"You know Caroline, Klaus wants us to protect you." Stefan confessed.

"I told him that wont be necessary, I will handle my own. We all will look out for each other, promise me ok." I glanced around at my group of friends.
