1 week later, May 6th

Claire's POV 

I didn't start my period this morning, but it could be late... I guess only one way to find out. I bought 3 pregnancy tests last night and I was going to take one now and one after school. I get ready for school, Henry texted me if I needed a ride to school and I said yes in case it was positive I could tell him. I kept thinking to myself, what is he breaks up with me? What if he tells the whole school? He's a sweet guy, but he could get mad, this is a big change.

I looked at the results... Positive. I get nervous... This is not real, it's a dream... Please? I get a text from Henry saying he's outside... I have to tell him. I stick the pregnancy test in my back pocket and grab my bag. I walk to his car and and he waves, I wave back.

"Hey babe, what's wrong?" He asks, I start tearing up, but I wipe them off and I take out the test and hand it to him. He just stares at it. He sits for about 30 seconds then he looks out his car window 

"This is a joke, huh?" He asks in a louder tone, I was to scared to reply so I just shake my head slowly "please tell me it's a joke" he says louder, I break down 

 "I... It's not a joke Henry" I say, shaking

 "No" he yells "you aren't pregnant" he says sternly. I just sit there without saying anything. He just stares at the test again, then he throws it in the trash "are you trying to ruin our relationship?" He asks, I just shake my head "because it's working, I'm... " he starts turning red "I don't wanna lose you, but it seems like you wanna lose me" he says, I see tears coming down his cheeks "I... I'm not kidding Claire, I need you" he says "I'm not taking care of a baby though... This is a prank" he says, I just stare at his eyes, they are bloodshot 

"I'm sorry Henry, but..." I start, but he stops me 

"Get away from me" he yells "get out of my car" he says, crying. I get out and walk away while he stares at me. I knew he was gonna hate me, why did I try? I try and made things worse. 

I make my way to school, crying. Hayden sees me and stops me.

"Hey, what's wrong?" She says, I try to push past her

"Nothing" I say quietly, she pulls me aside

"Tell me Claire, I won't judge you, I promise" she says and I calm down

"I'm pregnant and Henry broke up with me and now I have to take care of this child by myself and... " I say fast, she stops me

"Slow down, your pregnant!? She says 

"Yeah, problem?" I ask, embarrassed

"No, I just wanna get the story straight... Henry broke up with you?" She says, I could tell she felt bad

"Yeah, I shouldn't have told him" I say, she wraps her arm around me 

"You did the right thing, Claire, he's not the right guy obviously" she says

"Yeah, but I love him" I say

"I know, I'm sorry that happened to you" she says and I smile

"Thank you Hayden" I say and she smiles back

"He seemed like a good guy, but when a baby gets involved, he seems like a whole different person" she says and I smile. She hugs me and I go and find Eileen.

I find her in her usual spot. I sit down and cry on her shoulder. She hugs me and asks me what happened

"I... I'm pregnant and now Henry hates me" I say in tears 

 "Aww, I'm so sorry, now we're going through the same situation" she says

"How did you tell your mom?" I ask

"I just told her and she was a little disappointed, but she had me at 17 so she understood" she says 

 "How am I gonna explain this to my mom?" I say, I put my face in my hands

"You just gotta do it" she says "I can come with you if you need support" she offers 

"Thank you so much, you're the best" I say and I hug her.
