A week later, January 27th
Claire's POV
Zealand woke up super early today, which is funny because last year, he woke up late. I gave him a poptart and some yogurt for breakfast. I wanted Zealand to take a nap before the party, but it didn't look like that was going to happen because he was super hyper today.
"Happy birthday Zealand" I tell him and he smiles "you are 2 today! Can you say 2?" I ask him, holding up 2 fingers
" 2" he says and tries to mimic my fingers
"Good job baby" I say and I get him dressed in his birthday outfit which was his blue and white 'I'm 2' shirt and jeans. I started putting his dinosaur decorations up and I picked up his dino cake while my mom watched him.
I called Ezra and invited him over early. He came over and Zealand attacked him when he came inside
"Happy birthday little Z" he said and Zealand grabbed his leg
"Rawr" he said and bit his leg
"Oh no, the dino got me" Ezra says and Zealand laughs and continues gnawing on his leg.
I got all the decorations up and all the guests started showing up. I didn't invite that many people like last year and Eileen said she couldn't come for the party since Neo had his 2 year well visit, but she said she would come over after the party.
I lit the 2 candles on Zealand's cake and picked him up to see it and then we started singing.
"Happy birthday to Zealand, happy birthday to you" we sang and I showed Zealand how to blow out the candles and he blew out the second one. We all clapped and he clapped with us.
We cut the cake and Zealand ate his piece and even asked for more... He wasn't much of a cake boy last year but now he loves it.
Zealand began opening presents and I read the cards to him even though I knew he wasn't paying attention. I took him outside and I took pictures for his 2 years of being on this earth. I ended up only posting one (above) but it was a really cute one.
