The next day, November 28th
Claire's POV
Zealand got up at 6:30am and so I got him dressed for church in his grey shirt with a bear on it and khaki shorts. I put a little Sunday yellow dress on and flat heels. I put Zealand in his highchair and gave him some Gerber yogurt melts and a Gerber teether that was strawberry apple flavored. I put Cocomelon quiet on TV since mom and the kids were still asleep.
Eileen and her mom were outside at 8:30 and I turned Cocomelon off and got the diaper bag and put some of his toys in there along with some snacks and a cup of water. I got the car seat of my mom's car and put it next to Neo in Eileen's car.
We arrived at church at 8:40 and I got Zealand out of his carseat and carried him into the church. There was a lot of older people and they greeted us at the door, most of them were talking to Eileen and her mom, but a few people stopped me and welcomed me to the church. Most of them told me that Zealand was handsome and that he looked alot like me, which I agree he looks like me, but his eyes and lips were definitely Henry's.
We sat down in the back pews and I set Zealand on my lap while he watched Cocomelon silently on my phone. The pastor stood up and welcomed us and talked about the week and what was going on. Then the music started and we had to stand and sing along to the words that were on the tv's and Zealand really enjoyed it, although he was more focused on his Cocomelon.
After we sang the songs, the sermon started and Zealand got antsy and squirmy. Eileen told me to follow her and we exited the sermon and went down the hall and I saw a sign that said nursery
"I leave Neo in here during sermon, he is taken care of in here" she says and we walk in
"Ah, good morning Eileen" she says and Eileen smiles at her and sets Neo on the ground, but I was hesitant
"Andrea takes good care of the babies" she says, pointing to all the babies on the floor, there were about 5 or 6 kids in there "you can trust her" Eileen adds and I nod and set Zealand on the floor and gave his diaper bag to Andrea and she smiles
"This is Zealand and he loves to watch Cocomelon on my phone and eat his yogurt snacks that are in the bag" I say and Andrea nods and smiles.
We leave and I start to worry, I've never left my Zealand with someone other than my mom, so this was new to me and probably him too. Eileen sees my worried face and tells me to calm down and I nod slightly and we walk back to the sermon and sit next to Eileen's mom.
After the sermon, a guy walks around with a pan and people put money in it, I see Eileen's mom take her wallet out and I ask Eileen what she was doing
"She's gonna put money in the pan, it's a donation to the church" she says "it helps with funds and fixing up the church" she adds and I nod
"I don't have any money" I tell her and she smiles
"Me neither, that's why my mom does it" she says and I nod.
After the pan goes around, we walk to the nursery and I see Zealand sleeping in Andrea's arms and I smile
"Guess he was a tired boy" I say and Andrea smiles
"He just went down" she says "he was a little fussy, so I rocked him and here we are" she adds and I gently take Zealand from her and he doesn't even move
"Man, he really is out" I say and she nods "thank you so much for watching him" I tell her and she just smiles as she tends to another baby. Eileen picks Neo up, who is very much awake and hyper. I pick my diaper bag up and my phone that was in the pocket of the bag and stick it in my back pocket.
We leave the church and I check the time to see that it's 10:30. We go and we go inside for some brunch at Chick fill a since none of us had a real breakfast except for Zealand and Neo.
"So, how was your first time at church?" Eileen's mom asks me as she takes a bite of her chicken sandwich and I shrug
"It was good, I guess, the people are really nice and the sermon was good" I say, I put some small pieces of french fries in Zealand's mouth and he takes it out and puts it in, he just really loves feeding himself.
After brunch, Eileen's mom drops me off at home and Mom asks how it went and I say this same thing as I did at Chick fill a and I set Zealand on the floor and put Cocomelon on and go to change into something more comfortable and then I sit on the couch and look at my phone. I scroll and see a picture of Hayden, who was doing bump dates on YouTube. I watch the video of her 1 month bump date and I shake my head and turn it off.
