Claire's POV
I decided to take a pregnancy test even though it's not time for my period yet. I didn't want to, even if I wasn't pregnant, but I know I have to.
I bought a test last night after school, but I wanted to wait till this morning in case I started my period early. My mom was dropping Scott at dare care and Alice at kindergarten. I opened the box and read the label and followed the directions. While I waited for the test to say the results, I did my make up and my hair and got dressed in a crop top and ripped jeans. After an hour, I read the results, positive, I started panicking, but I just told myself it was too early to know for sure. I wanted to wait another week and take another one. If I was pregnant it would be about 2 weeks in already, so it's ok to wait a little bit.
I didn't walk with Hayden to school, instead I walked alone to try and find Eileen. I saw her sitting alone on a bench again, but she wasn't crying.
"Hey Eileen" I say, sitting down
"Hey Claire, what's up?" She asks
"I took a pregnancy test this morning" I tell her
"Oh, what did it say?" She asks in a curious, yet kinda sad way
"Its kinda early to tell, but it says positive" I say, I wasn't too worried about it, but I was still kinda scared
"Oh, yeah, it is early, maybe take another next week" she says and I nod
"I'll see you later?" I ask
"Yeah, you wanna hang out after school?" She asks
"Yeah, that sounds good, I'll see you after school then" I smile and and she nods.
After school, I meet with Eileen until I get a text from my mom telling me to come home since she got called in to work early. I tell Eileen and I ask her if she wants to come over to my house and she says ok.
We walk to my house and my mom is rushing out the door. She looks up and sees Eileen
"Who's your new friend?" She asks
"This is Eileen, she's been through alot, so I asked her to come over if that's ok" I ask
"Fine by me, Scott's had a rough day, so he's taking a nap, he should be up any minute" she says
"Yeah, I got it mom" I assure her
"I know, I love you" she hugs me "good bye Claire"
"Bye mom" I say and she leaves. Alice comes down stairs and stops when she sees Eileen
"You're not Henry" she says
"Clearly" I say smiling
"I'm Eileen, I'm Claire's friend" she holds her hand out and Alice shakes it
"Are you hungry, Alice?" I ask her
"No, I already had a snack" she says, sitting on the couch.
A couple minutes later, I hear Scott yelling mom's name. I go upstairs and pick him up
"Hey Scottie, how was your nap?" I put him on my hip and he rests his head on my shoulder. We walk downstairs and Eileen smiles at him
"Aww, he's so cute" she says, I set him on my lap and she rubs his head, feeling his curly, blonde hair "he's got a lot of hair, how old is he?" She asks
"2 years old" I tell her
"I want a boy so much" she looks down at her stomach "I want to be a boy mom" she says
"You never know" I tell her and she smiles
"I'm so glad we're friends" she says "I'm hated by everyone in the school ever since Greg cheated on Savannah with me" she looks down "it was a mistake" she says
"Its ok Eileen, you'll get through it, you won't go through it alone" I assure her
"Thank you so much Claire, you're a great friend" she says, smiling
"We're going to be fine, I promise" I say, and I hug her.
