LENA POV
I'm very nervous as I slide my key into the lock of Warbucks' penthouse as he had given it to me about a week ago. He said since I was doing so well of collecting money when he was gone, and making sure everyone was staying in line that he wanted to make me feel even more special. I was still rather nervous about it and the last month I felt as if I had been walking on eggshells with him.
He continued to send me on high paying jobs and I no longer had to walk the streets, he showered me with gifts once again, and the extra money I was saving considering Aunt Reba had banned me from ever coming back to her apartment telling me to keep my drug money and never show my face again. It had hurt me, tremendously considering I got in this business to help her, but now it just seemed I didn't know how to get out.
How could I? Despite being somewhat terrified of Warbucks, I was just still so much in love with him, taken by him and blinded by him. I hated that, I really hated it and Tess had warned me so long again to not let that happen. Course my friendship with her had changed too and I knew partly why. I did because I had to get tough with her in order to save my own ass and that didn't feel very good. Plus, I noticed she was hanging out with Stef and Callie a lot and that alone infuriated me because Stef was like a damn virus. And one we couldn't get fucking rid of.
Tonight, I'm even more nervous especially since Warbucks had sent a message with Bruce for me to meet him at the Penthouse at 7. Usually when he sent Bruce with a message it meant something was up, especially if I was meeting him here. That was causing my nerves to be on end and I could only wonder what was up his sleeve.
"But I thought you'd wanna, ya know, play a bit, Michael," I suck in my teeth as I hear Stef Foster's voice which got under my skin every single time I heard it. What the hell was she doing here? But why am I even damn surprised since Mike had blindsided me before with her dumb ass as I was collecting money a few weeks ago and she came out the room watching me with a stupid ass smirk on her face. He had just smiled at her as she went back in the room winking at me.
"Oh, hi, Laura!" I turn to face her as she is in just a simple pale blue tank, no bra as I can see all her information poking through, and minimal panties as she was puffing a joint with her long blonde hair hanging down. She sits on his giant leopard couch of course rather close to Warbucks and it is all I can do to scream or punch her in the face. Why did she always have to look as if she was one upping me? Why?
"This is Lena, Stef," Mike laughs as he is in his burgundy silk robe, taking the joint from her as he puffs it, and she stares me down rather intensely as she crosses her legs and swings her foot and smirks.
"Your top girl?" She says rather sarcastically.
"Warbucks?" I ask as I look at him, ignoring her rude ass as I set my bag down on a nearby chair. "Bruce gave me your note to meet you here, and..."
"Oh, yes! That!" He laughs as he waves me over. "I did send it, but I'm glad you're here, baby. Come! Sit!" He pats the couch beside him as I swallow, confused but hide it well as I smile and sit beside him. What in the hell was this, I had no idea but I was ready to leave for I didn't know what the heck I was walking in to.
"Here, Len! You could use it!" Stef leans over Warbucks, handing me the joint as I stare at her coldly for I believe it was the first time she got my name correct even if this bitch knew it all this damn time.
"Go on, Lena, I got the good shit," Mike rubs my back up and down before rubbing my cheeks softly, and I take the joint as Stef winks at me never looking away.
I take a long drag before handing the joint back to Warbucks who smiles widely at me as he, too, takes a drag before stroking my cheek for the second time. I never was into drugs, not even weed but I felt I wasn't in the position right now to even say no. "I thought you could use a night off, Lena. Invited Stef, too. Not sure if you've met?"
