TESS POV
"Good thing I came when I did. I was looking for you anyway, baby," I say as I had managed to get Stef away from her party, having grabbed a bottle of whiskey and a couple of joints as I had taken her to the roof.
I had no clue of course what was going on but when I stepped into the living room and saw her and Julius nearly killing each other I grabbed her as fast as I could for I knew Stef had a temper if she was pushed and I knew that man wouldn't let up on her and it was even getting on my damn nerves.
Course I had no fucking idea what he said to her and I was rather surprised to see that him and Lena had even shown up and I was wondering what in the fuck he said to her. But, now wasn't the time to pry since I knew she was probably high off coke and weed and had been drinking. Maybe tomorrow after we get some rest.
I had spent more than an hour on her balcony with Antonio sipping wine and not even realizing what I had been spilling to him. He swore I was falling for Stef, swore to it and I told him NO WAY. That I just liked her is all and well, he had encouraged me to find her and talk to her anyway, but I didn't think it would be under these circumstances at all. Not at all as I reach out and brush her hair behind her ear as she is quiet now, and I am not sure what to say or do because I'm not used to her being like this. Not at all all. I am used to her sassy self no matter fucking what.
"Smoke, baby?" I hold out a pack of Lucky Strikes as she nods and takes one, allowing me to light it for her as she remains quiet.
I look around at the nice scenery Antonio had helped me create from the large blankets and pillows to the couple of candles I had lit, and I suddenly feel as if this is all wrong, and not the right timing and my doubts were really fucking taking over and creeping up on me.
"Thank you," she breaks me out of my woe is me thoughts as I look at her, and she smiles softly, puffing her smoke. "You saved my ass. I'd have killed that girl then that man. Honestly. I'm done with them, and if you want to...."
"Shhhh," I cut her off now as I move to softly take her hand in mine. "Don't think about them right now, okay? I get you hurt or angry or whatever, but can you let it go for now? Even an hour?" I ask softly as she seems to snap out of it, looking around us.
"What? Where did you get all of this Tess?"
I laugh now. "Your apartment, silly."
"What?" Her eyes meet mine as I feel my face becoming warm and my shyness that came out with her as starting to take over a bit.
"I told Antonio it was silly. He thinks I...ummm, he's a lot sometimes," I choose my words wisely as she puts out her smoke in the small ashtray I had set on the blanket as she looks back at me smiling.
"No, finish your statement, Theresa. You were gonna say something. What did I tell you about not talking to me, Tessy?" she teases now as she grabs one of the new long dreads I had put in my hair and I look into her pretty hazel eyes.
"It's not a good time," I say shyly as I now play with her fingers, and she moves to sit in front of me, tilting my chin.
"Ya? And why is that? An eclipse coming? The end of time? What, babe? What makes it such a bad time?" Her eyes sparkle as I feel as if my tongue is stuck to the roof of my mouth as I quickly grab the whiskey and take a giant swig hoping it will give me some fucking courage as I feel my stomach turning.
"Give me some of that, mama!" She laughs as I hand it to her, and she gulps it before making a face. "DAMNNNNN, that's the good stuff! Ain't it??"
"I told ya! I got it just for you!" I laugh now as she sets it down and takes my hands in hers.
