It had been a whole day since I had seen her and my inner wolf was getting restless.
I needed to see her soon, or I would explode. I had made plans to go visit her today and check in, but I got so busy with Alpha stuff.
Apparently, my gammas had spotted rouges at the edge of our territory. Rouges were nothing our strong pack couldn't handle, but still something I needed to look into.
What kind of Rouges ignored the warning enchantment I had put over the forest? They must want something. What? I do not know.
I would find out though and if they were looking for trouble they wouldn't be able to look for long. We would take them out quickly.
Ugh. It is already 9:00 at night. I definitely won't be able to see Aunt Jules niece in law today.
Although I wouldn't be able to actually see her I had to go check on her at least. Just to make sure she was safe. Especially with the rouge situation. Can't be too careful. Plus I have been dying to be near her again.
Under the moonlight I undressed and changed into my wolf form. Breathing in the scent of the forest I took off in the direction of my mates house. There is really no better feeling than running in my wolf form under the moonlight. When I approached I slowed to a soft walk, so I wouldn't startle her.
The lights were off in the house except for one lit bedroom at the top of the stairs, which I presumed was her bedroom. I slowly made my way towards it. When I approached she was looking out the window. No doubt she sensed my presence. It was the mate bond for sure. She could feel me there, but I knew she had no idea what she was feeling.
No with me looking at her she probably felt like she was being watched. Gosh I feel like a creep. She was wearing a grey tank top that aloud me to see her beautiful curves and some snoopy dog pajama shorts. God she is too cute.
I saw her squint her eyes. She looked in my direction. It was like we were making eye contact even though I knew there was no way her human eyes could see me from this far in the dark. I could see her light green eyes perfectly due to my wolf vision. There were specks of gold in them. She was so breathtaking I almost howled.
She suddenly shook her head and closed the curtains. That is disappointing. Oh well there was no way I was going to leave this vicinity tonight. I didn't exactly like the idea of my mate living alone in the forest.
Even though the crime rate in Nelson was essentially zero, and I should know I'm the head sheriff. Still you never know what weirdos there are around. Plus there was still that rogue problem. Who am I kidding? I'm the only weirdo standing staring outside of a woman's house like a love sick 15 year old boy.
I circled around then layed down putting my head on my paws. When all of a sudden I heard movement from downstairs headed to my mates room. My ears perked up only to realize they were tiny footsteps and must belong to the boy.
"Mommy I can't sleep. Can I sleep with you tonight?" I shouldn't be listening, but...........I couldn't exactly turn my wolf hearing off.
"Sure baby."
"Mommy can we go for another walk in the woods tomorrow? Please!"
"Why don't we go back to that pancake place you loved tomorrow, then we can walk around town. I would feel more comfortable if Aunt Jules or someone who knew the forest walked with us." That someone could be me.
"Okay mommy, but only because you promised me the pancake place."
I knew exactly what pancake place they were talking about. There weren't exactly that many diners in Nelson, but Billie's had the best breakfast food in America. I laid my head back down knowing I would be driving by Billie's tomorrow during my patrol in the hopes to see my mate and maybe even finally talk to her. God I hope so because this is driving me crazy.
............................,...............................................
The next morning as I drove up to Billie's I saw Mr. Jenkins, the town grouch, with his arms up anger directed towards my mate. Of course, I knew Mr, Jenkins was harmless but still I did not like the way he was giving my mate an evil stare.
