I grabbed Connor and Lilly by the hand and ran as fast as I could to the bunker looking behind me only once to make sure others were following.

As soon as Connor, Lilly and I made it to the bottom steps I turned to see there were kids and elderly people coming down as well.

"Connor you and Lilly stay right here. I'm going to make sure everyone makes it in okay. This is serious you two have to stay right here." I warned

"Okay mommy." Connor said with fear in his eyes.

As I turned to run back I caught him hugging a very frightened Lilly.

Connor was brave now I had to be.

I'm the Luna. These are my people.

As the last person walked in I asked "did everyone make it?"

"Mr. Jenkins is still out there he's moving slow and has no idea what was going on," one of the 11 year old girls answered.

Crap of course that old fart would be going slow.

I couldn't leave him though.

"Mr. Jenkins," I called as loud as I could.

"Over here girl," he replied wobbling twords me in disarray.

Girl? I was going to let that go.

"Come on, I got you." I said wrapping his arm around my shoulder so he could lean on

We went as fast as we could to the bunker. Panting I unlocked and locked it back behind us.

"Mommy," Connor screamed running toward the stairs. I bent and wrapped my arms around him so tight.

I have never been so scared in my whole life.

"Everyone is here?" I questioned one more time to, which an elderly woman reassured me that all of the children and those unable to fight were here.

What about those who could fight?

God I felt as though I let them down. I thought the protective barriers should work. I never should have decided to go on with the wedding.

It was stupid and selfish.

"What the hell is going on?" Asked a panicking Kelsey.

"That's what I would like to know!" Said an ungrateful Mr. Jenkins.

Oh crap they don't know about werewolves!

"Um hurricane." I spat out.

"In January?" Kelsey asked tilting her head to the side and raising one of her eyebrows.

"Yep crazy crazy weather we're having." I replied.

"So why did some people stay out there?" She further probed.

"Had to put out sandbags and things don't worry sams out there he won't let anything happen to anyone." Although I really believed what I said I knew there was no way he could protect everyone.

I just prayed that he and everyone else was safe.
...........................................
Almost an hour and a half later and we were still down there. This felt like torture.

I'm so scared I'm so scared.

The words repeated in my mind like an echo chamber.

"Mommy, you look worried." Connor commented.

"Oh I'm not everything will be fine." I said stoping mid pace to pat his head.

"Yeah don't worry Sam will protect us." Connor said, which solicited a sob out of me.

"Yeah you're right buddy he will," as I said the words I wrapped him into a big hug.

That's honestly what I was afraid of. Sam trying so hard to protect everyone and everything that he died in the process.

Oh god I don't know if I can take another heartbreak like that.

I motioned at Lilly who was standing a few feet away to come join us and the three of us stood there in a hug for what seemed like an eternity.
