I paced back and forth in front of Connor's bed for what felt like hours before Sam finally informed me the witch and warlock were here.

Turning around a small gasp left my voice, "Anna Kate?" I asked in disbelief. She was our favorite waitress at Billy's.

"How's my little guy doing?" She asked.

"Horrible, can you fix him?" There was an urgency in my voice I didn't know existed.

"We're going to try our best."

At that moment my head snapped up to see the warlock step into the room. James Carter, aka chiropractor douchebag who came into Aunt Jules spa every week for massages.

Really he's the best warlock in town?

I outwardly rolled my eyes without thinking. Wait till I tell Kelsey, my work best friend. She has been crushing on James freaking Carter for forever.

"Millie?" Sam questioned noticing the look I was giving Carter.

"Sorry, I'm nervous,"  I stated awkwardly then moved out of the way so they could get to work.

Anna Kate sat on one side of the bed and James Carter sat on the other. They both raised their hands over Carter and a yellow light glowed from them.

You would think I would be used to seeing supernatural shit dating a werewolf and all but I wasn't.

"Wait is that going to hurt him?" I all but yelled out.

The lights went out of their hands and they both looked up.

"Of course not, we are just seeing what spell was cast on him first before we can undo it." Anna Kate smiled at me with concern.

I liked and trusted her. The other one I wasn't so sure about.

"Come on Millie let's let the siblings get to work. They can work faster if they can fully concentrate. Trust me they know what they are doing."

Siblings? Did Sam just say they were siblings?

I nodded, wanting nothing else but for my baby to feel better.

Sam sat there and watched as I made tea, did the dishes, swept the floors, set up the couch for Connor in the living room, and did anything else I could think of.

"Would you calm down, woman? Connor is not going to be happy if he wakes up and you've had a heart attack."

"I know I can't help it. I clean when I'm nervous"

"Come here," Sam softly demanded while patting the seat next to him on the couch.

Reluctantly I gave in. He immediately pulled me into his arms and kissed the top of my head. Feeling his warmth and hearing his heartbeat I couldn't help but relax into his touch.

I needed him. I now knew I needed him.

"Feel better?" He asked

"Yeah, how did you do that?" How did he get my heart rate to slow?

Looking down into my eyes he softly spoke, "it's a wolf thing." That got me to roll my eyes and smile simultaneously.

"Everything is a wolf thing," I replied. At this, he chuckled and rubbed his nose against mine before kissing everywhere on my face but my lips.

This allowed me to smile and relax even more until I heard the sound of an opening door, which caused me to jump off the couch and turn in anticipation. Sam followed quickly behind.

"He is completely fine. He fell back asleep and will probably be asleep for a couple of hours though." I let out a sigh as Anna Kate spoke.

"Someone was trying to do a location spell on him. We reinforced the protection we have on him. They still do not know where he or Millie is at this point and most likely still think they have moved from Washington. " James Carter spoke matter-of-factly but for once he didn't annoy me.

"What protection spell?" I asked

"I'll explain later," Sam said only loud enough for me to hear. Then in a louder voice said, "thank you so much. What do I owe you guys?"

"No charge," Anna Kate said, holding up her hand. "We love that little boy." Her words caused the corners of my mouth to turn up in a small smile.

Connor is lovable.

We thanked them again as they walked out the door and I gave Anna Kate a hug to which she replied "come visit me soon."

Oh, Connor and I would be going to Billies tomorrow. He deserved some world-famous pancakes after today

After they left I turned to Sam, as he knew I would, and asked, "what protection spell?"
