I don't know why I was so nervous. My heart was literally pounding in my chest.
This was what was suppose to happen. We were suppose to lead the pack together.
So why was my heart slamming in my chest?"Oh I'm," Millie began nervously, "don't you think it's a bit soon for that......Um for the pack I mean. They just met me and I'm human. I don't want to offend anyone."
My sweet Millie worried about what the pack wants as if that would make a difference.
That is why she is going to be such a great Luna. That is why I love her so much.
"Millie, in the few months you have been here you have won the pack over. Every last one of them. How could you not have? You have cooked and taken care of everyone. You have helped care for kids and the sick, you have given out advice and given out love. You are already Luna to me them." Every word I spoke I meant with such integrity.
It was all true.
Even my gammas, the jokesters of the pack loved her as Luna and would die to protect her. I could see it in there faces as she placed pancakes in fron of them.
She was nurturing to all. She was loving to all, but still had her backbone.
"Well if you're sure then, yes." She breathed
"I've never been more sure of anything in my life." Was my honest reply as I took her in my arms.We locked eyes and just as I was about to lean in Connor yelled, "yay now you guys can get married!"
That was coming next. I had planned to propose after the Luna ceremony. Smart boy.
I smiled and looked down at Millie who now had a light pink tint upon her checks.
"Let's not get too ahead of ourselves," she laughed nervously. She didn't have a clue.
"We're gonna be a family one day," Connor smiled back.
Breaking away from Millie I bent down to pick him up and add him to the embrace, "you bet we are," I said not even caring if it was forward.
Millie wrapped her one arm around me and one arm around connor who was in between us.
The two of us put our foreheads against each other.
We were a family. It was perfect. The two loves of my life right before me.
"Ahhhhhhh," Connor suddenly screamed.
"Connor," what's wrong? Millie's concerned mommy voice suddenly took over and she pulled away to look at him.
"Ahhhhhhh," he screamed again. Soliciting a beating heart from me.
"Buddy, buddy what's wrong," I probed while rubbing my hand over his back trying to get a response.
"My.....my head," he barley got out through grunts.
"Ahhhhhh," he screamed one more time before his head fell back and he passed out.
"Im taking him to the bed," I told Millie as calmly as possible. "Go get a wet washcloth for him."
"Fuck that I'm going to call 911," she spoke through tears going reaching for her phone.
"No," I said in a tone that made her head snap up.
"Im going to mind link Theo to get me our best witch. This is black magic. Someone is trying to cast a spell on him."
"Hhhow dddo you know that?" Millie studdered.
Reluctantly I pulled back the hair on Connors neck to show her what I had noticed a few moments before. There was a huge black mark on the back of his neck.
Millie let out a gasp before letting out another sob.
