As I got ready for work I closed my eyes thinking about this morning. When Sam, the super sexy yet annoying sherrif touched my hand I felt something I have not felt in a very long time.
Then there were his eyes when he looked at me it was as if I was the only person in the world.
What am I thinking? I can't be attracted to someone. I shuddered at the thought.
Connor is the only male in my life and I intend to keep it that way.
Work was uneventful aside from the fact that Mr. James Carter came in again and basically asked me out AGAIN.
What is wrong with that man? He can not take a hint. I worked with Kelsey again today, and I was glad for it. Although she was younger than me by about 6 or 7 years she was going to become a dear friend. I could just tell.
After work I swung by Aunt Juels and picked up Connor. The whole way home he ranted and raved about hiking in the woods with Aunt Jules.
" She really knows her way around the trees," he beamed.
"Oh yeah? It sounds like you had a really good time with her today baby."
"I did, and she said one day she would take me to the top of a mountain."
"What? A mountain. Well I hope she is prepared to have to carry you up half of it."
"Aunt Jules is insanely strong for an old lady. I bet she could"
"Connor baby, it is not nice to call people old."
" You called Mr. Jenkins old earlier, and I meant it in a nice way. I mean she is super strong. After our hike she picked up lots of wood by herself and made a fire for us to warm up. I wasn't cold though. I love the cold."
It was true ever since he was little he never minded cold weather. It never really got that cold in southern California, but one time after Daid died we visited my parents in North Carolina.
I thought they would be excited to see us and help with Connor.........they weren't and they didn't.
It was then I figured out how much he truly loved the snow. While I had anxiety over him getting frostbite he built snowmen without gloves for hours.
"Mommy, can we have pancakes for dinner?" Seriously? How many times in a week is this kid going to ask for pancakes. I'm going to start counting.
"We are going to have spaghetti for dinner baby. I already cooked it."
"Yay, spaghetti!" Connor ate a lot. Had to be more than a normal 4 almost 5 year old. I swear he was insatiable.
As we arrived at home I once again had this creepy feeling we were being watched feeling. The cottage we lived in was absolutely charming and the forest is beautiful, but I was not used to living so isolated.
Although Nelson, and this cottage was probably a million times safer than California it still freaked me out.
When we got inside Connor washed up for dinner while I set the table. Just as I was about to call him down for dinner there was a knock on the door.
That's weird No way Aunt Jules was coming by for a visit again. We literally just saw her. Who else knows where we live? Should I answer this. It is nighttime.
Heart beating I opened the door just a crack to see officer Sam, from earlier standing outside my door with a smile on his face. I let out a breath. Wow he really did look good in that uniform.
He had dark brown dreamy eyes, and matching dark brown wavy hair. He had one of those sexy beards you see on t.v. giving him a hot scruffy look.
I lowered my eyes and really realized how masculine he was. He was tall with broad shoulders. You could tell under his uniform was a solid chest. Oh my he looks good.
