I don't think I have smiled this much since ever. Millie was not only beautiful, intelligent, and hardworking, but she was funny too.
As soon as we got to Chuck E Cheese Connor and Lily took off playing while Millie and I sat at a table and ordered a pizza.
For the past 20 minutes she had me laughing over her Mr. Jenkins persinations. I really think she is going to be parking in his spot next Tuesday.
"So what does" see you next Tuesday" actually mean?" I asked making quotations with my fingers
"Get out your phone and look it up. Its not Chuck E Cheese appropriate." She winked and I did as I was told. When google came up with the answer I looked at her mortified.
"You did not call Mr Jenkins that."
"I sure did. Besides I doubt the old fart knows what it means." I chuckled at that. She really did not like old man Jenkins.
"I think you two are going to become great friends one day." I said, causing her to laugh out loud. Her laugh is so beautiful. How did I get so lucky?
When she laughed there was a spark in her light green eyes, and suddenly I couldn't stop staring at her.
Everything about her was perfect from her thick, dark lashes to her full lips, and her honey blond hair. When she spoke she used so much animation it was mesmerizing.
She must have realized I was staring at her because she suddenly smiled and looked down blushing.
"Uncle Sam, come show Connor how you play the bowling game. You're so good." Lilly came running over with Connor tagging
"Yeah come play with us, " Connor chimed in. It amazed me how friendly that kid was. Millie really was doing a good job with him. I felt a sense of pride at that thought.
"Of course, I'm about to destroy that game." Not to toot my own horn but it was true arcade bowling was my thing.
10 minutes later I had already won the kids 500 tickets, but they wanted more. Apparently there was a huge stuffed animal dinosaur at the ticket exchange counter. The kids were planning on getting the stuffed animal and sharing it. He would live one week with Connor and one week with Lily. How do they know what a week is and when it would be up I don't know.
"Win us more tickets, win us more tickets, " they both chanted simultaneously.
"Okay, okay I can't concentrate on the game with the chanting please." I begged.
A beautiful laugh distracted me causing me to look over my shoulder just as I was about to throw the ball.
Millie smiled at me and gave a thumbs up. She's too beautiful. I turned back around determined to win that giant dinosour.
About thirty minutes later the kids were cashing in their tickets for an oversized dinosaur. Success.
At the checkout counter though the kids found several other items they wanted and soon began chanting "win us more tickets" again.
I rolled my eyes and threw my head back as they continued to chant.
After a few seconds of chanting I interrupted, "Okay you too, you both need to go eat some pizza before it gets too cold then after we can play again."
"I agree," came a beautiful voice from behind me. "After dinner I'll play too and see if I can't beat your Uncle Sam's high score, " Millie said to Lily while winking. Oh we will see beautiful. We will see.
All through dinner Millie and I talked about everything. Our families, our friends, our dream vacations.
She was just so easy to talk to. As if she was made for me to talk to for hours. Well of course, she's your mate.
"Alright dinner is over time to lose at bowling," Millie smiled at me
"In your dreams," I winked
Millie the kids, and I took up three lanes of arcade bowling. Connor and Lily decided to share a lane, and they did extremely well for four year olds. It was adorable.
Millie and I decided to play next to each other and see who could get the highest score. I won't lie, she was pretty good, but I was better.
In the end I beat her by only ten points winning 675 tickets. Just enough to get her a small stuffed animal.
I went over to the exchange counter and saw a small grey wolf. Perfect.
"For you my lady," I said holding out the wolf.
"Why thank you! I've always wanted a man to win me a stuffed animal at Chuck E Cheese," she said laughing and I winked.
The kids finished changing in their tickets for prizes and Millie decided to keep hers for next time. The thought of next time made me super excited.
It was 8:50 when we finally left. By the time we made it back to her place both of the kids fell asleep in the car.
When I parked she smiled over at me and said, " I had a really nice time tonight" making my heart beat fast. I looked at her in the eyes and with my wolf hearing I could tell her heart was beating just as fast.
We stared at each other and I could tell her breathing had slowed.
Slowly I leaned forward and touched my lips to her soft cheek causing sparks to ignite through my body. She sighed and my insides turned with joy and excitement.
"Thank you for coming out with me tonight," I said and she smiled. I took a deep breath. Don't be a coward. "I would really like to take you on a proper date if possible."
"I think I would like that," she spoke softly and I felt like I had won the whole world. I took her phone and input my number telling her I would text her the details.
"Would you like me to carry Connor to his room? You can stay in the car with Lily while I do?"
"Oh no, I'm used to carrying Connor. Thank you though." She is too sweet and so independent. I thought to myself but I wanted her to be able to depend on me.
"Well at least let me walk you guys to the door," I said unbuckling. I locked the door and kept one eye on Lily as I walked them to the door.
Can't be too careful with the rouge situation, although they haven't crossed our border yet.
When we got to the door I kissed her one more time on the cheek, which may have been overkill but I had to feel her again and she didn't seem to mind.
After walking through the door she turned and smiled at me ,which I returned, before closing the door and locking it. Good girl. I got in the car and looked in the back seat. Lily was still asleep and I was on cloud nine as I drove her back home.
