As I waited for Connor and Millie to return I paced back and forth on the front porch thinking over the events from the past few days.
The moment I saw the rouge leap out from the shadows I knew it was not a rouge and I knew exactly which pack it belonged to.
He was from the Red Moon pack, the same pack David should have been alpha of.
It was also the same pack Connor would one day take over.
I suddenly knew why Millie had no clue about werewolf's, why Aunt Jules wanted Millie and Connor to move here so bad, and why David never talked to his dad.
It was all for Connor and Millie's protection.
After David's mom died his dad apparently went crazy and did not want to relinquish the Red Moon pack to David.
When David found out he and Millie were mates he moved them to Southern California and quitted his inner wolf afraid his dad would kill Millie.
I can only assume when Connor was born the fear grew.
My stomach turned as I thought about how Connors grandfather, alpha of the RedMoon pack , clearly wanted him dead.
It was sickening to think someone would go so far just to remain alpha.
This lead me to believe David's accident was no accident at all.
It was most likely that Harold Robertson killed his own son, or at least had him killed.
Werewolf's don't die in car crashes. They just don't.
I had no idea how I was going to tell Millie, but I wasn't going to wait. She needed to know that she and Connor were in danger.
She needed to know she would be moving in with me here no exceptions.
Her and Connor could have their own room if they liked but they would no longer be living alone in the forest.
It was not safe not even in the slightest.
Looking up from where I stood I saw Connor and Millie walking back towards the house.
My heart ached at the fact that Connor would never know his father.
I still just don't see how someone could want to harm such a sweet child or their own child for that matter.
Walking up to my porch Millie looked absolutely breathtaking. The sun shone on her honey blonde hair illuminating her beauty. Each step she took was graceful.
She's perfect and she's mine.
Her full lips pulled into a smile once she noticed me causing a pause in my chest.
"Aunt Jules said she would come visit watch Connor so we could talk," she said quietly then added "yeah I found out Aunt Jules is a werewolf today too.......I'll have to get use to that one." She shook her head as she spoke as if there was as no way what she just said was true
"Good we have much to discuss." I said offering my hand to her as she walked up the steps.
"Sam, can we go to Billie's I want some homemade icecream my mom said you bought for her." While Connor spoke I noticed a blush and smile that appeared on Millie's face.
Such a cute kid. Clearly Millie talked about me to him. I'm not sure why that made her blush it made me beam with joy.
"We sure can." I replied.
"If you are good for aunt Jules," Millie added.
"Oh you know he will be," the jolly voice of Aunt Jules came from behind Millie.
After settling in we took off for a walk. I needed somewhere private yet safe to speak with her.
