Throughout my entire recollection, Simon has harbored an inexplicable disdain towards me. It perplexes me greatly, considering we were once inseparable, akin to the bond of best friends. Fortunately, Leah remains a steadfast companion, offering unwavering support regardless of the circumstances, and for that, I am sincerely grateful.

I exited my room and spotted him, wearing a smirk on his face. "S-Simon?" I exclaimed in surprise, as Simon rarely visits my room. "Hey Sav, I was thinking, if you want to hang out with your brother," he suggested. I could see that smirk on his face, and I immediately responded, "No." Simon was taken aback by my answer. "What!? No? Sav, it's going to be fun!" he insisted. I retorted, "It would be fun if you didn't have that smirk on your face." Simon sighed and said, "Fine!" with a certain tone.

Following that, he persistently attempted to convince me to join his nonsense, but I refused to entertain his absurdity. After six hours of no communication, he finally spoke up, blaming me for our mother's death and calling me a spoiled brat. I was taken aback by his words and tried to suppress my emotions, but instead, I began to cry. He then insulted me further, calling me a pathetic crybaby with a disdainful tone.

10 years later
It has been a decade since he uttered those painful words that continue to haunt me. Even now, I ponder if he was correct, although Alya advised me to disregard Simon's opinions. Alya and I formed a friendship 11 years ago, but she recently relocated to Francois DuPont, my new school. The people there, including her friends, particularly Marinette Dupain-Cheng, were all kind and welcoming.

I joined Alya and her friends during lunch. Alya confided in me and shared her secret, but I was taken aback that she hadn't told Marinette. Alya described Marinette as a trustworthy person. In a private moment with Alya, Marinette, and Nino, I quietly expressed my surprise, saying, "Hey Als, I'm still shocked that you didn't inform Marinette about Chelsea and her friends." Alya whispered back, "I was just about to, Sav. Today is the day I finally gather the courage to tell her without breaking down." I replied, "Alya, you were there for me when I needed to let it all out in front of everyone." Alya nodded and said to Marinette, "Mari Babe, I have something important to tell you."

Alya glanced at me while I smiled back at her. "At my previous school, I was constantly bullied and felt incredibly insecure," Marinette shared. Alya responded, "Why didn't you tell me, Marinette?" Marinette replied, "I couldn't bring myself to share without breaking down." I reassured her, saying, "Alya, I would never mock you for crying. You helped shape me into who I am today." Alya smiled and hugged Marinette tightly, and I joined in on the embrace. Alya then asked, "Hey Sav, how are things going between you and Simon?" I sighed, "Horrible." Suddenly, Marinette exclaimed, "Oh no, an Akuma! I have to go!" I turned to Alya and questioned, "Didn't Shadowmoth get defeated two weeks before I arrived?" Alya looked at Marinette in surprise, and her twin sister, McKenzie, chimed in, "Well, transform and help us, silly!" Alya turned to me and urged, "Tell me more, Sav." Her words made me tense up, and she noticed. "Alya..." I began, but she interrupted, "Savannah, what's going on?" I felt a poke on my side, trying my best not to burst into laughter. I cursed myself for being ticklish. Alya grinned at me and warned, "Or else." I reluctantly shared, "He glares at me every time we cross paths and calls me pathetic." Alya reminded me, "Sav, remember what I told you." I nodded while embracing her. Marinette, her boyfriend, and her sister sat down, and Alya asked, "Who was the target this time?" Marinette replied, "Chloé." Alya inquired, "What happened?" Chloé approached our table, tears streaming down her face. I gently asked, "Chloé... are you okay?" Chloé stammered, "Y-yes?" I reassured her, "What's wrong?" Chloé confessed, "M-my brother called me a pathetic idiot." I admitted, "I don't have a good relationship with my siblings, especially my older brother." Chloé expressed surprise, "Really? What happened?" I felt a sudden tension at the question. "It's okay if you don't want to talk about it," Chloé said kindly. I sighed, "My mother passed away when I was six, and my brother, who was sixteen at the time, became distant. During an argument, he called me a pathetic crybaby." Chloé sympathized, "I've always had a strained relationship with my brother and my family. Marinette, it's no excuse for how I treated you and the entire class."

The day after that
I knocked on Simon's room, asking, "Simon, can you please tell me what our mom was like?" Simon responded, "Sure, come on in." As Simon sat down, I remained standing. He motioned for me to sit, and I obliged. He then offered me a strawberry macaroon, causing Simon to laugh. It was the first time he had laughed in 17 years. I reminisced, "Mom always made me happy, as did father." Suddenly, I received a text from Chloé. Simon glanced at my phone and exclaimed, "Wait, Chloé Bourgeois, Clyde Bourgeois's sister?" I nodded, and he proceeded to read the text aloud, "Me and Clyde got into a huge argument about me hanging out with you." Simon became angry, declaring, "No one talks badly about my sister and gets away with it, not even Clyde Bourgeois, the mayor's son!" In a fit of rage, Simon grabbed his phone and coldly commanded, "Come to my house." He then looked at me and apologized, saying, "Sav, I never meant to hurt you. I'm so stupid, and I'm sorry." I replied, "Simon, I still love you, even if you treat me poorly." Simon smiled and playfully poked my sides, causing me to giggle. I scolded him, saying, "Simon!" He responded, "There's that smile!" I rolled my eyes and playfully glared at him, but he couldn't resist poking my most sensitive spot. I shrieked and tried to escape, just as Sara walked in and informed us, "Hey Simon, Clyde is here, and Sav, Alya is here with Marinette." I was shocked that my best friend and my new friend had come along.

As Marinette and Alya entered my room, I could hear the sound of slapping and fighting coming from downstairs. Marinette glanced at Alya, then turned her gaze back to me. "Should we go and check?" Alya and I both nodded in agreement. "Yes, let's go," we said in unison, our tone filled with determination.

As we descended the stairs, Clyde's groans of pain reached our ears. I couldn't help but roll my eyes in annoyance. I quickly grabbed some ice, chucking it at him without hesitation. Marinette and Alya both exclaimed "Damn" in surprise. I couldn't help but laugh, asserting, "I'm not pathetic, and neither is your sister!" Marinette gave me a high five, appreciating my remark. Simon, with a smile on his face, pulled me into a tight hug, causing me to yelp in surprise. Alya giggled and greeted Simon, saying "Hey again." Simon acknowledged her and then turned to Marinette, introducing himself, "Hi Alya and... Marinette." Simon expressed his pleasure in meeting Marinette, before playfully suggesting, "Now, let's have some fun and wreck Savannah to bits."

I must admit, I was completely demolished, and my trust in Marinette grew stronger.
