"Oh hey," a voice called out behind me. Throwing the rag in my hand over my shoulder I turned around curiously. Jackson and Xavier smiled as they saw my face and sat down on the stools in front of the counter.
"Hi," I said walking closer. "What can I get you?" I asked placing the rag down. They always looked classy. For the three times that we ran into each other, they were dressed in dressy attire. Maybe it was for their job. They looked clean, unlike the other men who came into this bar.
"Same as before" Xavier gave me a toothy grin. I nodded my head and without any words started to make their memorized drinks. "So how was your day today?" he asked me. I raised a brow at his attempt to form a conversation with me.
"Same as always," I commented shaking a drink. He kissed his teeth and make a clicking sound. Now if this was not the most awkward thing yet.
"So do you like puppies?" Xavier said looking proud at his new attempt. Jackson sighed shaking his head into his hand. I stuffed a laugh which came out as a little snort. "Hey you laughed," he said nudging Jackson.
"You're such a dumbass" Jackson mumbled giving him a stern look. "She does not care about puppies."
"Hey, I could," I said handing Jackson his drink. He grabbed it and raised a brow. "I like puppies very much," I said sending a sweet smile at Xavier, he definitely was the funny one, Jackson was always so serious, I don't think I've seen him smile while Xavier had a natural smile attached to his face twenty-four-seven, I envied his happiness.
"See, she likes them," Xavier said shrugging his shoulders. I passed him his drink and laughed again. Jackson rolled his eyes and took a long sip of his drink.
"Twelve ninety-nine," I mumbled grabbing my rag again and cleaning the mess I had made. Jackson dropped a twenty on the counter and told me to keep the change. "So what are you guys doing at this bar on a Monday afternoon?"
"Business as usual," Xavier said sighing.
"Do you do all of your business in bars?" I asked him squeezing the wet rag over the sink.
"Only the business deals with other people. It's good to get them under the influence a little, and it's good to be in a public place." I stared at him confused. "We usually have a go-to bar but it was closed the first time we came here, and now our Boss wants to do another deal at this bar." I nodded my head and rested my elbows on the counter. They were actually decent conversation holders.
"Why come back to this bar?" I scrunched my face and looked around. "There are far better ones" I whispered. "Don't tell Bill I said that though."
"Who?" Xavier asked me with a curious face.
"My boss" he mouthed an 'Oh' and leaned back. I smiled and pushed my hair behind my ear. "He has it out for me," I said raising my brows dramatically.
"What did you do?" Jackson said now intrigued.
"Literally nothing. He's just always hated me since the moment I started." I shrugged my shoulder and stood up straight. More people started to enter the bar. "Great" I mumbled.
"Rude" Xavier said shaking his bead disapprovingly.
"I know" I agreed to roll my eyes and watch the door as it opened again. My brows connected as I saw Cutty Sark walk in with his head held high. This man held so much power and he knew it. He radiated dominance. I became nervous just being in his presence. He wore a white button-up and some black pants. He looked like he had just taken off his tie and suit jacket before he came in. His ruffled-up hair was admittedly the sexiest thing about him.
