"Can Emilio come over again tonight?" Spear blew his hair from his forehead as he hopped onto my bed. I put my hands through my jacket with a sigh. This question was continuous, all week I have endured Spear praising Emilio.
"You know I work late tonight buddy" I checked my outfit in the mirror. He mumbled an 'I know' with a mirrored sigh. I turned to him and raised my arms.
"You look good" He gave me a thumbs up as he checked my outfit. Smiling I walked towards him so I could place a kiss on his forehead.
"Thank you- now let's get you to Dalia's" he groaned in response.
Spear followed me down the stairs but stopped before the last two steps just so he could jump from them. He stumbled at the bottom but quickly recovered causing a laugh to abrupt from me.
"Nice one," I said gathering my belongings to leave and stashing them in my purse. His cheeks turned red as he ran to put on his shoes next.
"Can you tie my shoes?" he mumbled struggling with the two laces that kept slipping from each other. I kneeled down and tied both shoes with ease. "How do they stay for you?" he pouted and now struggled with his zipper. When I zipped it up next to him he huffed.
"I'll teach you one day" I ruffled his hair and stood up to put on my shoes over my fuzzy socks, I couldn't help but smile at the thought of Emilio's comment about them.
"You're always working" I let him walk out the door first and then grabbed my purse digging in it for my keys. I exhaled hard while locking the door multiple times just to be sure.
"It's so I don't have to work in the future, the more money I save now, the less I'll be away" I lied, soon enough he would understand everything, but he's too young.
"Oh, ok" We walked across our yard to Dalia's next door, I knocked and waited not one second before the door was roughly opened by Dalia. Her phone was placed by her ear and her face contorted in a glare. When she saw us she mustered a smile and then turned around yelling.
"I told you already I'm not doing it." I walked in with Spear by my side. What was she talking about? "I don't care about the money and I don't care what's at stake" She looked back at us for a second then entered the kitchen.
"Why don't you go play upstairs with your toys" Dalia had more things for him than I did, needless to say, he stayed here quite a lot. Spear ran upstairs and at the same time Dalia walked back out with a groan.
"What happened?" I crossed my arms curious as to who angered her this much. She never got mad.
"Family stuff, they just want me to do something that I don't agree on, our morals are completely different" She ran her fingers through her light brown hair.
"What was it?" she hesitated to speak with a shake of her head. Why doesn't she want to tell me?
"It's nothing important, shit you're probably late, I'll see you tonight alright?" she walked towards me and hugged my still body. This only made me more confused.
"O-k" I drew longing. "I'll see you" I slowly walked out glancing at her every few seconds. She seemed weary and as much as I wanted to stay and push the truth out of her I really couldn't be any more later than I was.
What was going on?
"Davina looks like we're closing together tonight" Ben smiled the moment I entered the bar, his hands were placed on the counter and his head was turned towards the door almost like he was waiting for my arrival. I didn't bother to hold back rolling my eyes.
