"You're rich, why exactly couldn't you hire a moving company?" Xavier tossing a box full of pillows on the vacant floor of the living room. Rolling my eyes I take a sip from my cup of Cutty Sark enjoying the sense of nostalgia that came with it.
"I like torturing people don't you know," I say sarcastically but regretting doing so as Davina enters the room with a glare and a large box full of her clothes.
"Don't make me take this box back out there." She narrows her eyes as she walks towards me. Thought the threat was an empty one I narrow my eyes testing her. Before I say anything I watch as she grabs my cup downing the remains of my drink in one gulp. "Now go grab the rest of the boxes."
"This is why we have a shit tone of family Darling- fine" with a deeper glare shot my way I'm quiet and walking out of the door.
"Bambina just take this one," Killian says snatching a box away from Essence and nudging his head to a smaller one by the moving truck.
"I don't want that one, come on I can do that myself I'm strong." She argues attempting to steal it back but with every step she takes he retreats. "Ian!"
"I know you can my love, doesn't mean you have to." And with that she's silent, though she rolls her eyes the moment he walks away a smile breaks out on to her face. I had never met someone who enjoyed testing the patience of their loved one like Essence did. She thrived off of little squabbles.
"The house looks great Milo," Killian says the moment he reached the front steps. Proudly I nod my head looking back at the house I had no help in picking out.
Davina insisted I have a stronger opinion on the houses but wanting her to have anything she desired I remained mutual and every house we looked at. Reluctantly she took matters into her own hands picking one with the wildest of intentions hoping I'd say it was too much and finally have an opinion.
I bought the house the day of.
I never believed in happily ever afters, I thought anybody who even thought of getting into a marriage were purely idiotic. If they didn't do it for financial benefits what was the point. I thought every basic depressing thought you could think of until my eyes landed on Davina.
The moment I had walked into the empty house with her, the moment I saw her twirl around in taking every square inch of the large living room I could finally see what was set out to be my happily ever after. I could see a whole life with her, marriage, kids, holidays, fights and makeups, it was all there laid out ready for me to take it at anytime.
And for the first time I embraced the reckless side of my emotions, I took a leap of faith enjoying how good it felt with every inch I moved.
As Killian walks inside Essence reaches my side. "I'm so happy for you," I turn to face her fully with an uncontrollable smiling spreading on my lips. It was so wide that even my cheeks started to hurt, it was a feeling I missed having.
"Everything feels suddenly feels right."
"Feels amazing doesn't it?" I nod my head letting out a deep breath. "I'm sure your mother is looking down on you extremely proud."
"Of what?"
"Embracing emotion, feeling, loving, love is the one greatest feeling in the world. It concurs all." Essence runs her hands down my arms as if she's trying to warm me up. I never once believed anything anyone told me about my parents. It felt like I knew them better and no one had a right but for once in my life I didn't question anything that was said about them.
Grinning, I nod my head embracing Essence in a deep hug. There was a time I thought id never get to hold my sister, now I'm here holding my sister in front of my house that I bought for my future family. It was a like a dream come true.
