As I hum the tune to the replayed cartoon theme song going off in my living room I dance slightly while pouring orange juice into a glass cup and then more into the bottle next to it. "Spear!" I yell standing at the kitchen door.
Spear runs to me and grabs both of the glasses placing them onto the coffee table vastly. "Here Ellie," He says disregarding them entirely and then walking my way once more.
Eliana slides off of the couch and grabs the bottle. As she rests her elbows on the coffee table she turns her head slightly so that she could watch the Television while drinking.
"When's Dad coming?" Spear asks me impatiently, his knees shake with excitement as he stands in front of me almost my height. I press my lips together and place my hand on his shoulder.
"You have his number S," I say before turning around and entering the kitchen. "If you're going to ask me to call him you can forget about it," I pause when I hear Spear follow behind me. When his groan fades away while I continue my way towards the stove.
I creak the oven door open and peak at the cake I had made smiling when it's at its peak height. Turning off the heat I slide on the oven mitts to my right chuckling to myself in anticipation.
My heart drops when the doorbell rings, sliding the cake on a cool surface i turn off the stove and walk with pace towards the front door sliding off the mitts in the process. "Spear what do I say about opening the door alone," I say when Spear is already side stepping to let my father inside.
"I'm thirteen," Spear rolls his eyes but nonetheless smiles at the sight of my dad waving at my daughter. Eliana lets out koo before wobbling towards my father one side of her body weighed down by her heavy bottle.
"Ellie, are you going to come with us on this fine summer day out?" My father's voice becomes high pitched as he pokes at her stomach. She smile grabbing onto his finger and attempting to bring it into her mouth.
"To a car racing, yeah right," I scoff as I finish my steps to the man kissing his cheek and grabbing Eliana from his grasp, "I'll see you next week." I kiss the top of Spears head roughly before I mess up his hair.
My heart skips when I finally realize Emilio was walking up the driveway, when he reaches the front steps he raises his brows at the amount of people in the foyer. His hair is grown out slightly falling past his ear but shaved around the sides, his jaw was scruffy from not shaving but weirdly enough his jaw stayed defined. With a smile he pushes back his messy hair before he pats Johns shoulder entering, "John."
"Stealing Spear here?" Emilio then hooks his arm around Spears neck messing up his hair even more.
"What's with you guys and touching my hair!" Spear says rushing his hands to fix the knots formed. His pale face reddens at the amount of attention on him.
"It's not like you spend hundreds of hours on your hair?" My father snorts knowing exactly how much time he spent in the mornings touching it to perfection. "Well let's get going mister, we still have to pick up your friends right?"
"Yes let's go," Spear is already disregarding us running out of the door and down the driveway without goodbyes. "Let's go dad!" He yells.
"He's going to be a fun teenager," I say sarcastically.
"Just wait for her," My father says looking down at my daughter with awe. "I already know there's a beast inside this beauty."
