Jaida:
What did I have to lose?
Well lets see, there's my life and there's losing Isabella. Yea, that's enough to decide I'm not getting into this car with Mr.stranger, "Thanks but no thanks, I'd rather take the risk of walking home, my chance to escape is a lot greater than if I'm stuck in a car, so yea goodbye."
I turned and began walking off, whatever that guy's purpose was coming here, I wasn't going to get involved in it until the right time. Until then, I'll mind my own business, I picked up my pace and hurried home. After a hour, I'd manage to make it home safely, making the mental not to pay close attention to time when walking at night. I walked up to my apartment and headed straight for bed, tomorrow is 'mommy and me' bonding time for Bella and I. Clara had given me this week off since I was suppose to be leaving Thursday.
I woke up to the sound of a child crying and I flew off the bed when it registered that Bella had never woken up without me before.
Before I got the chance to knock on the door, Earl opened it, startling me, "Oh thank God! The child wants her mother."
I walked pass, kissing Earl on his cheek then heading into the living room where Bella was all red in the face from her wailing.
I took her from Maggie and kissed her forehead and began walking around and bouncing her, "Good morning baby, open your eyes for mommy," at the sound of my voice the crying stops and bright green eyes glance up at me, a tiny smile appears on her face and my heart warms at the action.
"Jai, what are you gonna do when you leave?"
I stopped my movements, I hadn't even thought about it, I wasn't expecting a reaction like this. "I hadn't thought about that to be honest. I'll figure it out don't worry Mags."
"Well alright then, how about some breakfast?"
Maggie knows well enough that I probably had no clue how to handle Bella's morning behaviour.
"Thanks but no thanks Maggie. Bella and I have got a big day today so I'm taking her to Clara's for breakfast but we can make it for dinner."
I know she misses her kids and having to take care of them, that's why she takes care of me so much but I'm not complaining about it. She's been a huge help. She nods her head in understanding.
"Maggie stop babying them." I laughed when Maggie scowled and I turned to Earl, "Thanks for last night. I really needed that walk."
"It's no hassle my dear. Now go before Maggie forces you to stay and eat."
Heading back to my apartment I dress Bella all nice and warm, then I get dressed while she watches me from on my bed. My phone rings, interrupting me. Picking it up off the ground, I groan outloud realizing it's my mother,
"Hello mom."
"Jaida Williams!! It would be nice for you to atleast call your parents or siblings once in a while you know!" I cradle the phone between my shoulder and ear as she goes off in a rant.
"How did you do in your exams? I hope your focusing!! Don't need you to be slacking off!!! You know if you do what's gonna happen don't you?!?! You better be studying and maintaining your GPA!! You are so easily swayed by peer pressure. You better be behaving!!!! Are you even listening to me Jaida!?!?"
"Yes mom!" I answer in exasperation, "I'm fine by the way, thanks for asking."
It's nice to know that your mother cares for your well being, I think to myself sarcastically. She doesn't even know I'm doing extra credits and I'm not about to tell her.
