Jaida:
I had never been so glad to be in the presence of friends but I couldn't help but feel incomplete knowing that Samantha wasn't here to enjoy this as well. She'd fit in well with our little group. I guess we were all a little family now and I loved being around them, they made everything easier.
I turned when Cameron nudged me, "What's taken the smile from your face?"
I smiled softly, "I was thinking about Sammy, I really miss her now more than ever now that all of you are around me."
He nodded understandingly and wrapped an arm around my shoulder pulling me towards him. I glanced around at the scene before my eyes. We were all in Cameron's backyard. Strangely enough I had been here so much times and I lived in the house now but I had never been in the backyard before. It was a huge open space, with two picnic tables and lounge chairs. Perfect for what we had now. A barbecue. All the guys were cooking and us girls just sat there watching. According to Michelle it was a rare sight to see her husband Jack and Ronnie's husband Ryan cooking so they were surprised when they agreed when Shane offered all the guys to cook and us girls clean up.
"Cameron, why aren't you helping them?" Michelle asked teasingly.
I laughed, "'Cause he can't cook shit," I said placing a kiss on his cheek.
"I can cook, you just don't appreciate the different taste," he said shamelessly trying to defend himself.
I patted his lap affectionately, "You have other qualities that you're good at baby, it's alright."
He leaned down, his face close to my ear, "Those qualities we'll see when the house is empty later right?" He asked before nipping my ear lobe and walking back to the boys with a smirk on his face.
I bent my head feeling my cheeks warm up in embarrassment as the twins, Liza and Genny laughed at me. "Don't be embarrassed Jai, it's perfectly normal to know how good your guy's 'qualities' are," Ronnie told me causing me to flush even more.
"Aww you guys leave her alone, she's all pink in the face," Genny said leaning towards me to pinch my cheeks. I scowled and slapped her hands away.
"Jai isn't Bella's birthday coming up?"
I nodded and sighed, "She's turning three already. Can you believe it!"
Everyone nodded in agreement and Genny glanced up, "What are you doing?"
"She's going to want a party and she's made so much new friends at the daycare, what kind of party do you throw for a three year old?"
Ronnie and Michelle smiled, "A themed party of course, if it's all girls do a princess theme or something if it's boys and girls you're going to have to do a double theme."
I felt my jaw dropping, "What?"
Liza chuckled, "Haven't you ever had a party before?"
I gave them a flat look except for Genny who gave me a sympathetic look, "No, my mom never did those things."
Understanding flashed through their eyes before an awkward silence settled amongst us. The sound of a knock on the front door interrupted us and I got up with furrowed eyebrows before glancing at Cam. The only other people that could be here were Maggie and Clara and that was only if something happened to Bella.
"Cam? You expecting anyone at the door?" I asked.
He furrowed his eyebrows, "No babe, hold on, I'm coming with you."
We walked towards the door and I couldn't help the panic I felt, what if something happened to Bella. As if sensing my distress, Cameron grabbed my hand and squeezed it reassuringly, before opening the door with his free hand.
