Chapter 43 (Part 1)

Jaida: 

Genny and I winced when we heard Liza throwing up again for the fifth time that morning. 

"Think she'll be alright?" 

I looked at Genny and nodded, "This is one of the greatest day of her life, I highly doubt she'll let morning sickness and nerves ruin that," I said softly, running my fingers through the hair of the sleeping child on my lap. 

We turned when the door to the bathroom opened and a exhausted Liza walked out, "I hate being sick." 

"Most of it is just nerves Liz," I told her, "You aren't usually this sick on a normal day." 

"I know," she said, sighing, "I just don't know why I'm so nervous, this is Shane, the love of my life, I should be excited and happy. Don't get me wrong, I am all that I'm just nervous as well," she said, drinking the water I gave her. 

Genny looked up at her, "Maybe you're nervous because you're telling him about the baby today as well and that's a big step," she said thoughtfully. 

I nodded in agreement, even though they were getting married it's still a big deal telling someone that they're pregnant especially if you're unsure of what their reaction would be like. I think Shane will handle it pretty well, it'll be pretty funny as well. 

She flopped down on the bed beside me, "I guess so, I can't wait for this stage of pregnancy to be over." 

I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion, "So Shane hasn't realized that you've been sick almost every morning?" I asked, not believing he was that oblivious to what was happening with his fiance. 

She gave me a flat look, "It's a bit unbelievable isn't it? I think he's afraid to ask me about it, to be honest. I know he hears me but he's scared. Sometimes I see him watching me from the corner of his eye, when he doesn't think I notice. Like he's trying to figure out what's wrong." 

Genny stifled a laugh, "Oh my, Liza you've got that poor boy in a mess." 

She smirked and sat up, "It's really funny though, seeing it happening. I actually enjoy his reactions." 

I shook my head and lifted Bella slowly, standing up, the poor kid demanded to stay up with us last night as we had last minute wedding things to do and I told her she would be tired but she refused to listen and who am I to refuse my princess. 

"Let's go get some breakfast and get this day on a roll, I'm starving and we have lots to do," I said heading towards the door. 

"Oh food!!" Liza stood up immediately and rushed to the door. Genny playfully rolled her eyes but stood and followed us anyway. 

"Hey Gen?" I asked when we were all seated at the table. Liza insisted on making breakfast and we learned the hard way about not giving her what she wanted. 

"Yea?" 

I gave Liza a look and she smirked and subtly nodded, "What's the deal with you and Derek?" 

We both watched in amusement as her face turned pink and her eyes went wide, "Uh, nothing?" 

Liza laughed, "Oh please, Gen. It's obvious something's going on between you and my cousin and as your best friends we have a right to know because we want you happy." 

She nodded and bit her lip before sighing, "We hooked up on Bella's birthday." 

"Hooked up where? In my house!?!" I asked, a little freaked out knowing that Genny was having sex at a kid's party but also kinda proud, I didn't think she had it in her.
