Jaida:
After alot of convincing Maggie and Earl took me to the airport with Bella. It's not that I didn't want them to do it, it's just I had an early flight and I didn't want to be a bother to them, I would have just called a cab. The strangest thing was Derek called me and asked to take me to the airport himself but I declined because with Maggie and Earl I can get a few more minutes with Bella, even though she's asleep in my arms. I don't even know how Derek got my number but I think Ronnie had something to do it.
"Maggie will you take Bella to Samantha's grave on Christmas day?" I asked, interrupting the comfortable silence we were all in.
I assume my question threw her off guard as she took in a sharp breath before answering me, "Yes of course dear."
"You'll call me everyday and you'll tell me how she's doing on the mornings without me right? You'll call me if she's acting up or won't stop crying right? She has a favourite blanket, it's suppose to be in her baby bag, if not you can just head back into my apartment and....."
"Jaida Willams stop this incessant rambling!! I did raise three kids, I know what I'm doing and I will keep you informed" Maggie cuts me off with a scolding look on her face.
I sighed softly and brushed a stray strand of hair from Bella's face, "I know, I'm sorry but I can't help but be panicky, I don't want to leave her."
"Calm down Jai," Earl interrupts, "Maggie and I are pros at this! Now go before you miss your flight."
After giving one last goodbye and hug Bella one last time I boarded the plane, as I sat in my seat I couldn't help but let a few tears escape. I can't handle leaving, I just wanted to run off this plane and take my kid and spend the day with her.
I honestly didn't remember much of flight it was like my body was on auto pilot through out the whole thing. I had just landed and I already wanted to go back. I felt as if everything that could possibly go wrong will go wrong. After collecting my luggage I headed out to locate my parents. I didn't find my parents who I found was someone I hadn't seen in over two years, my older brother James and his wife Katie.
"Well this is a pleasant surprise. What are you guys doing here?" 8 asked curiously after embracing them both. I hadn't seen or heard from my brother since his wedding day to Katie. We used to be close but not anymore.
"Well dad went out with some friends and you know how he is when he goes liming so mom called us and asked us to come get you. You'll be spending the night with us and we'll drive down to the house in the morning," James answered giving me a 'such is life, take what you get' look.
Yes ladies and gentlemen, my father would rather lime and get drunk than pick up his daughter from the airport. Don't get me wrong he isn't a bad father, he doesn't abuse us or anything like that it's just sometimes I think he likes his friends and liming more than he does us.
The drive to the house was pretty quiet with the occassional random question here and there, all I really wanted to do was go to sleep but I needed to call my mother and Maggie. As soon as we pulled up into the driveway, I pulled out my phone to call my mom, might as well get her out of the way first.
"Hey mama," I said when she answered on the third ring.
"Jaida did you reach safely? How was your flight?" She asked genuinely concerned.
This was one of those rare occasions where my mom actually acted like she cared about my well being. It was times like these I really appreciated having her around.
"Yes mommy, my flight was good," I answered her as sweetly as possible. Just because she was nice sometimes doesn't mean I'm just going to forget how she treats me on a normal day.
