Jaida:

After an eventful breakfast at Clara's, I literally pushed Cameron and Bella out the diner so I could start my shift, she would get bored here and I needed to go back to my apartment after my shift but I couldn't do that if she was with me. I also needed to talk to Clara about Cameron's proposal. I was in dire need of some guidance.

"What's on your mind?" I glanced up at Clara in surprise. I was leaning against the counter, waiting for my next order.

"What do you mean?" I asked feigning innocence.

She gave me a flat look that told me she didn't buy it, then raised her eyebrow for me to start talking. I sighed deeply, glancing back at the kitchen, "There was a misunderstanding between me and one of Maggie's daughters and she slapped me and Bella saw it happen. She's terrified of the aparment and of them."

She nodded then smirked, "That's why you spent the night at my grandson's?"

I flushed then I remembered what happened there and calmed down pretty quickly, Clara noticed and furrowed her eyebrows in confusion, "That's not a good thing?"

I sighed and told her to give me a minute while I delivered my order to the table I was waiting on and checked on my other costumers. I was silently contemplating telling Clara, I knew she would understand but she was Cameron's grandmother, part of her would favour him more plus she's secretly rooting for us, she'll probably spend more time trying to convince me that his insane idea of moving in together is a good idea.

"It's just that Cam's got this asinine idea that Bella and I should move in with him." I told her getting straight to the point.

I watched as her eyes lit up as my words sunk in so I cut her off before she could say something, "And I would prefer a honest opinion I don't want you trying to convince me because you're not-so-secretly rooting for me and Cam."

She had the audacity to look sheepish and I stifled a laugh, she pouted and furrowed her eyebrows in deep concentration before getting this serious expression on her face, "I have a feeling I'm missing some details but my honest opinion? Don't do it."

I stared at her in surprise, I was so sure her honest opinion would still be to move in with him. "Why?"

"Sweetie, you came here to escape living under rules and those crazy ass parents of yours and be your own person and independent, you know deep down in your heart, you'd prefer getting your own place and providing for your daughter on your own. Besides you have morals and standards, I see the way you look at my grandson when you think no one is looking, You love him but you're afraid to get involve because my grandson being the idiot he is can't seem to grow a backbone to tell you that he loves you, so you're afraid he'll unintentionally hurt you."

I stared at her wide eyed, 'Was I in love with Cameron? I knew I liked him alot but love? Impossible!' Besides he wasn't in love with me, he had his other girl, the unattainable one. She was right about the other stuff though, deep down inside I didn't want this hand out from Cameron. I wanted to be able to provide for my daughter and prove I can take care of her, that I can give her a home and right now we needed a home.

"He isn't in love with me Clara, our relationship is platonic to him and a case of unrequited feelings for me. I can't move in with him because he'll never have feelings for me, at least not in the way I want us to be," I told her with a sad smile.

"What makes you say that?"

I glanced around the diner, the breakfast rush was over. There was only a few people left here so I knew we would be able to talk without interruption. "I asked him, what would happen if he got a girlfriend? What would happen to me and Bella? Would I need to move again?"
