Jaida:
"Hello."
"Hey Mags," I said softly.
"Jaida! Sweetie how are you?" Maggie asked, her voice full of concern.
"Can Bella and I spend the night?" I asked softly, sniffling.
"Of course you can baby. What's wrong?" She asked.
"I just need some advice." I told her honestly.
"Say no more. We'll figure out all your problems as soon as you get here."
"Thanks Maggie," I said, gratitude clear in my voice.
I walked into the house the same time Genny and Bella walked into the living room, "Bella Marie, momma needs to talk to you."
I smiled softly when she skipped towards me and I stiffened when she jumped into my arms but I relaxed after and walked back out to the backyard, taking a seat on the lounge chair.
"Momma needs to go talk to Maggie baby? Do you want to come and spend the night with me?" I asked, brushing the curls away from her face, trying to distract myself from the oncoming panic attack.
She nodded excitedly and I took a deep breath before placing a kiss on her forehead. I wasn't too keen on letting her go but I missed my baby and I wanted her near me. "Go pack your bag baby."
I smiled when she ran off and Cameron walked through the door immediately after, staring behind him, "That girl has got some energy, where's she running off to?"
"I need to talk to Maggie," I said, bending my head to avoid eye contact.
He sighed and took a seat next to me. I tensed slightly and he shifted away. "How did the talk with your mom go?" he asked after settling to a comfortable spot.
I glanced in surprise, "How did you know?"
He smiled and gave me a look full of love that melted my heart, "I know you Jai, I saw the look on your face, when you made the decision to call her. Besides despite all your problems, you miss her."
I smiled softly, lightly tracing a pattern in the chair, sometimes I really underestimated how well Cameron knew me, but I loved when he took me by surprise like that, "It was a wasted effort but she was right about one thing that she said."
He sighed and a look of yearning flashed through his eyes as he clenched his hands, "Did you expect anything else from her? What did she help you realize?"
Taking a deep breath, I reached out and grabbed his hand closest to me, ignoring how he watched me with wide eyes, "She made me realize that it was my own mistakes that-"
"No!" I flinched back in surprise when he shouted out, interrupting me, "Sorry, I didn't meant to startle you but, don't even finish that sentence Jai. It wasn't your fault, what happened was-"
"But Cam-" I started interrupting him.
"No, let me finish, then you'll talk," he scolded. He flashed a smile and I stared at him confused before I realized he was staring at our now entwined hands and my unknowingly tightened hold on his hand.
"Now, if anyone's to blame it's that bastard that did this to you Jai. It's disgusting to prey on unsuspecting girls. He knew what he was doing and it wasn't your fault. Any other time, we both know you would be more than capable to fend for yourself. You're stronger than you think babe. You have something to fight for. That little girl inside our house right now. I know for a fact that as long as she's here, you'll never stop fighting for her."
