Genny:
I woke up at eight to hear the house in silence. Jai was usually an early riser so I was surprised not to hear noises coming from the house. Slipping out my room I opened Bella's door to see her now waking up as well.
"Morning Marie," I said, walking towards her. I was so proud of Jai for taking her in an raising her as her own. Not many people would take on that challenge but Jai did and she's a great mother to Bella.
"Good morning aunty," she said her voice still full of sleep but she gave me a bright smile.
"How about we go see why your parents aren't up yet?" I ask her. She hops out of the bed and I take her hand as we head to Jaida and Cameron's room. Slowly and quietly opening their door, we see them still asleep, I bit back an 'aww' when I saw them wrapped up in each other's arms. Slowly closing the door, I take Bella into the kitchen, might as well get her some breakfast.
"What do you usually have for breakfast Bells?" I asked curiously, as I stood in the kitchen lost as to where everything was.
"Mommy always gives me cereal, she stopped cooking breakfast since I got sick once," Bella said staring at the table with furrowed eyebrows.
I nodded, knowing what incident Bella was talking about. Jaida had never completely forgiven herself for not knowing about the mushrooms even though we've all tried telling her it wasn't her fault. I should try to convince her to cook again, that'll help her get over the irrational fear that she'll kill her daughter.
"Well how about I make you something instead of boring cereal and you can help me," I suggested to her.
Her eyes sparkled with excitement, "I would like that very much."
We spent the next hour dancing to music and baking muffins, Bella was so much fun to be around. She was this little bundle of energy that didn't hesitate to put and keep the smile on my face.
I sent Bella to watch television so I could clear up the mess we had made when I noticed Jai's phone blinking, indicating that she had a message. I had every intention of ignoring it when Jasmine's name flashed across the screen. Jai had enough drama to deal with and I was determined to make sure she relaxed the next few days for a change so I opened the text.
Jasmine: I know mom called you, call me back Jas.
I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion, 'I guess Jai was up earlier than I thought.' Glancing at the time, I realized I had to meet Liza, she wanted to discuss some wedding plans with me so I offered to meet up earlier before Jai met us for lunch. Sending Bella to change out of her pajamas, I slowly opened Jai and Cam's door, this time Cam was awake but staring off into space.
He glanced over at me and smiled, "Hey."
"Hey, she alright?" I asked, Jai wasn't one to sleep late.
"Yea, she'll be fine, it's been an interesting morning but she should be awake soon," he answered soft;y, running his hand through her hair.
"Great, Bella has been fed and I'm heading out to meet Liza in a bit," letting him know where I'd be so he can tell Jai when she wakes.
"You know how to get to Liza's place?"
"She's picking me up." He nodded and I continued, "When she wakes up, tell her check her phone and remind her of her lunch date."
He furrows his eyebrows in confusion before nodding, "Will do, where's Bella now?"
"I sent her to change."
