Jaida:
"Momma!!!!!!"
My eyes flew open and I rolled off the bed. The door to Genny's room where I had been sleeping since Tuesday opened, revealing a hyper four year old, that looked like she just woke up.
"Momma!!"
I cringed back, she had to much energy this morning, "Yes Bella," I answered calmly.
"Today is my birthday!!!!!!"
I smiled and opened my arms for her to come to me, "You sure?" I asked seriously.
Her eyes went wide and I stifled a laugh, "Yes mommy. I'm a big girl today."
I shook my head and brushed her curls away, "You're still my baby-girl," I said, placing a kiss on her cheek.
"Do you remember what we do on your birthday?" I asked softly, trying to get up.
She nodded, "We visit Sammy!"
I nodded and lifted her onto the bed so I could get up properly. I rolled my eyes when I realized that Genny didn't even budge when I fell. Ever since my little argument with Cameron, I had been avoiding him. Every time we were together it was just filled with awkward silences and a lot of tension.
I was actually glad that I was around Genny so much, she understood what I needed and how to react around me. I even started the therapy on Wendesday. It was a very painful process but it did help. I told him everything and slowly he's helping me get back into my routine. From Monday I was going back to work and I had been walking around on my own after I was finished with a session, getting used to be around strangers. Fortunately Cameron didn't know about that so we hadn't had any disagreements since Tuesday.
Now it was Saturday morning and Bella's fourth birthday and I intended to make this day the best but first we had to pay a trip to Samantha's grave. I hadn't manage to get there on my own to admit anything to her just yet but it won't be long before I'm capable. Glancing down at my ray of sunshine I realized she had gone back to sleep and I looked at the clock before closing my eyes. Five in the morning. She wakes up early on her birthday in a good mood, any other day and there's hell to pay 'cause she turns into this grumpy monster.
I slowly went out the room, knowing I won't be able to go back to sleep, I headed into the kitchen to make some coffee. Thinking about what the schedule for the day was. Bella and I were headed to Samantha's grave, then we're going to the Clara's for breakfast. I had to keep her out while everyone got her party ready and then I'd bring her home for her to have fun, bringing an end to her night.
I wasn't surprised to find Cameron in the kitchen, when I walked in. I would admit to myself that I did miss him, I missed us as a couple. I no longer flinched or cringed around people but I hadn't been in any physical contact with anyone besides Bella and Genny. My therapist said to pace myself and trust my instincts, that my body would know when it was ready for that but I couldn't stop the yearning to be with him.
"Hey," he said, when he saw me walk in.
I flashed him a smile, "Hey. You awake long time?"
"Not really, Bella came looking for you, that's when I woke up," he said, taking a sip from whatever he was drinking.
I nodded, "You made coffee?"
He nodded and pushed his cup towards me before getting up to get another cup for himself, "She's gone back to sleep?"
I smiled softly, "Yea, it's pretty early for her," I said biting back a yawn myself.
"You can go to our room and get more sleep if you want, you're not going to the graveyard until eight. That gives you three hours to get some more sleep."
