Jaida:
"Are you sure leaving is a wise choice?"
I looked up at Liza and shrugged, "I think so, maybe, I don't know anymore," I admitted sadly.
After the disagreement this morning with Cameron, I had packed a bag for Bella and I and Liza picked us up. Now we were sitting around the restaurant, just talking.
"I think it's a good idea," Genny commented, sipping on her coffee.
"What about Bella? She's going to notice something is up," Liza said softly looking over at the girl in question.
"I know she's going to know and that's the only downside to this, but I told him I won't deprive him of seeing her. They'll still be spending time together, she just won't be spending nights there," I said.
"How are you going to explain that to her?" Liza asked curiously.
"I don't know."
She gave me a hard look, "So explain to me what-- in the world happened this morning, I think I'm missing something."
I sighed and looked over at Bella, drinking juice and colouring. I didn't want to have this conversation in front of her, it may seem like she isn't listening but she picks up on some words.
"Later," I said nodding towards Bella.
She nodded in understanding and Genny switched the topic on to Liza's upcoming wedding.
She groaned in annoyance, "This is the first time in weeks I've actually gotten time to sit and relax for a while, Shane is no help because all he says is 'Whatever you want honey' so basically I'm on my own here."
"What else needs to be done?" I asked, feeling slightly sorry for her and how stressed she is.
She took a sip of the green tea she was drinking and I narrowed my eyes, remembering her strange behaviour from the last time we saw each other, "You're preggers!" I exclaimed.
She choked on her tea and Genny gasped loudly, "Oh Liza!! You are!!"
She stared at me wide eyed, "How did you know?"
"You hate tea and you've been acting strange since Bella's birthday," I told her, watching the recognition flash through her eyes and she flushed lightly.
"Yea, I am."
I watched Genny and we gave her a strange look, she didn't sound as excited as I hoped she would have, "Yet you don't seem to be all that excited. Why not?"
Her eyes watered, "It's just, it's so soon you know. Yea I've known Shane all my life but we're now getting married, we aren't ready for kids."
"Is it 'we're not ready?' Or 'you're not ready?" Genny asked her.
"Shane's a good guy, he'll be a good father. Now might now have been the ideal time for a baby but you can never really be fully prepared for a child," Genny told her.
"Liza, look at me," I said, "You haven't told him yet?"
She shook her head before I continued, "Are you trying to 'accidentally' lose this baby?"
She bent her head in shame, "I don't know if I can do it Jai, I honestly hate myself everyday for over working like I do but I just-"
I got off my seat and went to her side, pulling her into my arms, "Babe, you can't keep doing this. This baby is your future. There will come a time when you and Shane will want kids. What if the loss of this baby causes complications for future births. You may not think you're ready but no body is ever truly ready for this. You have been given the opportunity so many mothers wish they had, don't waste it. You and Shane are going to be wonderful parents and you have time to prepare yourself. You know you aren't going to be raising this kid alone but you need to start taking care of this baby, Liza. You're going to regret it if you lose this baby. You may not realize but you've already gotten attached to this little baby," I said noticing the protective hand she had laying across her belly.
