Jaida:
"Cam, baby, quick question? Do you want me to embarass myself?" I asked staring at the scene in front of me.
He furrowed his eyebrows and glanced at me, "Why do you say that?"
I looked at him giving him an incredulous look, "'Cause I can't do this!"
"You'll be fine, I won't let you get hurt, promise."
Sighing in defeat, I put my hand out for him to take and lead me to the counter to get shoes, "Lead the way."
He smiled brightly and his eyes sparkled before he walked off tugging me along into the ice skating rink. I was surprised though, I wasn't expecting him to take me out skating, I thought we were going to go for a walk in the park or something so this was definitely a nice surprise.
I was nervous but only because I thought I would end up embarassing Cameron here, the only upside was that the place wasn't that packed so not many people would see me embarrass myself. I had never been ice skating before and I was no where near graceful or poise, I was going to fall, despite what Cam said.
He led me to one of the seats and left me there to go get our skates and I took that time to glance at the ice, it didn't look that bad. I could have fun, no, I know I would have fun because I was with Cameron and I love him and he would do anything to make me happy. He went through a lot of trouble to make this date as nice as it has been. It's just thought of falling and getting butt bruises that makes this so unwilling.
"What's with that look on your face?"
I looked up and smiled at him, "Nothing, don't worry."
He glanced down and frowned, "You don't have to do this if you don't want this, we can go do something else, if you want?" I immediately felt guilty, Cameron got a saddened look on his face and I just wanted to wrap him in my arms.
I get up and wrap my arms around his waist and rest my head in the crook of his neck, "I'm sorry Cam, I'm being childish, of course we can do this." He hugged me back after a moment before pulling back and offered to help me with my skates.
"Come on, let's go teach you how to skate." I laughed at his excited behaviour and allowed him to tug me onto the ice.
"Don't you dare let me go Cameron."
He turns to me with a serious expression and presses his forehead against my own, "Never planned on it." I closed my eyes as he gently brushed his lips against mine.
I knew when we reached the ice as I started gliding along with him and I closed my eyes tighter, "Jai, open your eyes."
Slowly opening them, my breath catches in my throat when I realize we're in the middle of the rink and I tighten my hold on Cameron so I wouldn't fall. "Come on, I'm going to try and teach you how to skate."
"You're kidding right?" I asked giving him an incredulous look.
"What did you think was going to happen?"
"Well uh I assumed you'd be skating and I would just be gliding along holding your hand," I mumbled softly but I knew he heard me.
He chuckled softly and I blushed lightly, "We can do that after but come on, let's try."
I nodded, "Okay, look at me and focus on me and just take one step at a time, like you're walking, trust me alright?"
Giving him a wary look, I took a deep breath and just stared at his face, taking it all in as I slowly put one foot in front of the other, he slid away from me until we were only holding onto each other by our fingers.
