Chapter 4: Hamptons of the North

There are four known castles in the Galvion Empire. Dahil kilala ang Galvion bilang tahanan ng mga renowned mages, magicians, wizards, alchemists at summoners ay nagkaroon ng Four Castle Pillars ang Galvion Empire.

Each castles is headed by a Headmaster. The selection for the Headmaster of each castles were based off on the individual's strengths and raw talent alone. It does not matter whether you're a commoner or a peasant, as long as you have the strength and qualifications for becoming a Headmaster of one of the castles, you can be one.

The castles' role is to house the individuals with the talent in different fields that requires powers or abilities like mages, alchemists, magicians, wizards and summoners. After graduating from the Galvion Imperial Academy, the fresh grads can select which castle they can work for. Only if they have the desire to work to the castles. Because some fresh grads would take other profession that has nothing to do with the castles.

In the four castles, they can either be researchers, professors, rescuers or any profession there is to offer for someone with an ability like theirs. Ngunit kadalasan ay ginagamit ang kanilang mga abilidad sa mga wars, reconnaissance o ano pang mission—as per the Emperor's order.

Basically, the Four Castles are the elite forces of the Galvion Empire as well as the factory for geniuses and strong individuals. It the society today, it is more fitting to label the castles as some kind of "agency."

As of today, there are South Castle, West Castle, East Castle, and the most famous of them all are the North Castle. Which role is also to lead and manage the four regions of the empire. 

Unlike the other three castles, North Castle has the least number of people yet they have the strongest members. Dahil hindi katulad ng ibang castles, ang Headmaster ng North Castle ay hindi basta-basta tumatanggap ng mga fresh graduates sa Academy. She prioritizes the whole ability of someone than the power influence of them in the society, which, on the other hand is the basis of acceptance to the other three castles.

Before taking over the authority of managing the North Castle, the said castle was known as the weakest castle among the four castles. But after the current Headmaster has taken over it, the reputation of the castle skyrocketed.

Aside from the Headmaster's incomparable ability, she also set a record in the history of the empire as the first woman to have become the Headmaster of one of the castles.

In a patriarchal society where discrimination against women and the gender inequality is rampant, this is an iconic and one in a million achievement.

And that record-setter woman is in front of me.

"D-Duchess Hampton, the Headmaster of North Castle," Lavinia mumbled.

"That is right, brat. Have you finally come to your senses?" Kamaria answered.

Hindi sumagot si Lavinia at nanatiling nakatingin lamang sa kanilang tatlo. Bumuntong hininga si Kamaria at umupo sa upuang nasa gilid ng kama niya.

"I assume, alam mo na rin kung nasaan ka ngayon? Judging by how you recognized us."

"Yes," tango ni Lavinia.

"Good. Now, I heard about a brat living in the abandoned villa of the Claymours but how come that snotty brat ended up in the premises of the North Castle? Muntik pa akong maglinis ng bangkay sa sarili kong bakuran."
