Chapter 17: A Contract for Comrades

The nobles were immediately reprimanded and arrested under Lavinia's order. Their houses, treasures... Everything were confiscated, and they were all detained, while their families were only demoted as a commoner. Pati sila ay demoted din mula pagiging noble sa pagiging commoner.

It only took them a day to prepare for Count Benson's inauguration as the new lord of the land. Isa lamang itong simpleng seremonya. Lavinia signed a scroll containing the oath that recognizing Count Benson as the new lord. It was witnessed by the captains.

Matapos ang isa na namang araw ay agad nang naghanda sa kanilang pagbalik sa Alviali sina Lavinia.

"Are you sure you can travel now, young master?" tanong ni Lavinia kay Valse.

"Why? You're worried about me?" ngisi ni Valse kay Lavinia bago humalukipkip at sinandal ang likuran sa katabing carriage.

Agad na sumimangot si Lavinia sa mapaglarong Valse. But the man continued with his sly smile towards Lavinia. Sandaling bumaba ang tingin ni Lavinia sa kaniyang black, turtleneck, at longsleeves na pantaas. His built was buffed, that's why his muscles are forming under that fitted shirt.

The muscles on his arms are also being defined as he crosses it in front of his broad chest. It looked like it was enough to choke someone.

His gold, mid-length, and layered wolf cut made him look more manly. It went very well with his handsome face.

He's handsome, yes. What a shame that he's an asshole.

Lavinia exhaled, "No, I'm worried that you'll cause trouble for my knights, dumbass."

"'My knights'," he repeated with a bitter tone, "I wish I could be yours too."

Agad na ngumiwi si Lavinia, may halong pandidiri ang kaniyang reaksyon, tila nais nang takpan ang tainga sa lason na narinig.

See? He's a total dumbass.

"I can't with this guy..." she mumbled with annoyance.

Agad na natawa si Valse sa reaksyon ng dalaga. His nonchalant laughter echoed that even the nearby knights can't help but take a glance on them.

"My lady?"

Halos sabay na napatingin sina Lavinia sa marahang boses na tumawag sa dalaga. Valse tilted his head along with the sudden change on his reaction upon seeing Count Benson with a gentle smile on his face.

"Count Benson. May kailangan ka?" Lavinia asked.

"Yes, actually... Can I speak with you for a moment?" sumulyap si Count Benson kay Valse bago muling magsalita, "... In private."

Napataas ang isang kilay ni Valse dahil doon. His mood immediately went dark when Lavinia started to walk towards him.

"Sure. Excuse me, young master."

Hindi matanggal ni Valse ang kaniyang malamig na mga tingin sa dalawa habang papalayo ito. Bahagya siyang yumuko habang may pareho pa ring tingin sa dalawa, partikular na kay Count Benson.

Nang makalayo ang dalawa ay tumayo siya nang tuwid at naglakad palapit kay Frederick na abala sa pagpapakain sa kaniyang kabayo.

"Hey, Cap, who's that?" tanong ni Valse habang mayabang na winawakli ang kaniyang ulo sa direksyon nina Lavinia at Count Benson na seryosong nag-uusap.
