Chapter 7: To Trample Them
"Come in," she responded as she clasped her hands together on her office desk.
"Darling, tea?" he smiled gently as he lifted the tray a bit on his right hand.
"It's already afternoon? I didn't notice the time because of work," aniya habang naglalakad patungo sa sofa set katapat ng kaniyang desk.
"Yep, you're always like that. I'm worried about your health, Darling.
"You don't have to worry about that. Ignatius will detect whether my health deteriorates," she paused to get the teacup her husband has served for her, "Thank you."
"Still... You have never accepted a student before. I can already imagine how the Noth Castle staffs reacted about all this," ani Archimedes sabay simsim sa kaniyang teacup.
Kamaria sipped from her tea as well before shrugging her shoulders, "They can only complain. Not that they have the will and ability to become my student, whereas, the Brat has both."
"But... She's a Claymour? If I have guessed it correctly, she's the eldest daughter that was banished in the North after the rumor of her, poisoning her sister, right?"
Kamaria smirked sarcastically, "Do you believe that, Archie? I mean... She's your first love's and former rival's daughter."
"Darling! That's already in the past," agad na protesta ni Archimedes sabay baba sa kaniyang teacup.
Kamaria giggled upon watching her husband's reaction.
"And correction, I only had a one-time crush towards Leticia de Alnwick. Not that I had the intention to pursue her even though they weren't married yet. I just admired how strong she stood tall despite being shun by the empire for being a woman," paliwanag pa ng Marquis.
Kamaria looked down her tea. She stared at her reflection on the liquid inside the cup.
That's true. Some nobles before, especially men, questioned her ability as someone who has summoned a Holy Beast and receiving the title of the Great Summoner all because she's a woman.
Sexism, toxic masculinity, and misogyny... Those kind of discriminations are rampant in a patriarchal empire such as Galvion. That's why even the current Empress has less political influence in the empire because men here believes that they should rule on the top.
