Chapter 21: Lavinia Ariadne Shan von Claymour

The journey took them a week and half from the North to Garathea, the capital of Galvion Empire. Tamang-tama lamang ang dating nila sa nakatakdang araw ng birthday banquet ni Narine Claymour.

"Master, we have arrived at the capital," ani Luan matapos silipin ang labas ng carriage.

Lavinia stretched her arms after a slightly long nap.

"Shall I open the curtains, Master?" tanong ni Devon.

"Sure. Let's see how the capital changed after ten years," ngisi ni Lavinia.

Pinagtulungan nina Devon at Luan na itabi ang mga kurtina na nakapalibot sa bintana ng carriage. Lavinia closed her eyes for a bit to adjust from the sudden brightness inside of the carriage. Nang kaniyang muling buksan ang mga mata ay tumambad sa kaniya ang kagandahan ng Garathea.

The buildings and establishments have changed a lot. Most of the infrastructures has a of maximum five storey floors. The classic victorian exterior design is the trend of the said buildings.

The city is buzzling of vendors and fancy people going to and fro. Nang madaanan nila ang malawak at malinis na plaza ng Garathea kung saan nakatayo ang malaki at malawak na cathedral ay hindi mapigilan ni Lavinia ang mamangha rito. The huge fountain in front of the cathedral looks sparkling with the clean water and angel statue sitting on a lion statue in the middle of it.

Mahahalata ang pagiging moderno at elegante ng mga tao sa capital. The sophisticated aura and warm weather of the capital seems new to Lavinia despite being born in the very same city. For some reason, it felt like he's a tourist visiting a beautiful city.

Napabuntong hininga si Lavinia at humalukipkip. Isinandal niya ang likuran habang nakatingin pa rin sa labas.

"The capital's beautiful and all, but for some reason... Seeing that we're really in Garathea made me miss the cold North more," she mumbled.

It doesn't feel like... Home.

"Nasanay ka na sa North, Master. Naroon din ang mga Hampton. So, it is truly understandable that you wouldn't feel home here," Devon commented.

"That's true," tumango pa si Lavinia bago bumaling kay Luan, "You can visit your sister after finishing any business that you'll need to do when we get to the hotel."

Last year ay tinulungan ni Lavinia na makapasok sa Galvion Academy ang kapatid ni Luan kasama ng tatlong batang kaniyang iniligtas noon sa Estanco City. They became Lavinia's scholar or more like, they have become Madame L's scholar. Lavinia made sure for this fact to be known to the Academy's officials and the pupils there to protect them. Upang hindi basta-bastang maging biktima ng pangungutya ang mga ito bilang mga dating slaves na nakapasok sa isang pristehiyosong eskwelahan.

"Actually, Master... I received a letter from her before we departed from the North. They said they'll visit you themselves."

"They? Kasama ang tatlong paslit?"

"Yes, Master."

"How did they get the permission to get out of the Academy?"

"Ginamit nila ang pangalan mo, Master. They said Madame L called for them, so they got the permission immediately."

Lavinia snorted, "Brats..." aniya bago matawa nang sandali.
