"Tequila." I stood beside her lockers in a shy stance, waiting for to acknowledge my existence once she stopped talking to her friend group,

"Tequila!" I clear my throat, getting all of their attentions, the two left waving her off. Leaving her there glaring at me with her arms folded. "I was calling your name, why didn't you respond."

"Go ask solánge that, I mean, don't you talk to her as well?" She laughs lightly, hiding the small hurt she had in her putting away her books while the locker door covered my eyes on her.

"I don't talk to her," I sigh. "She was on dick, she spoke to me first!" I knew I was lying but I didn't care, my mind was still stuck on that fact that my own sister lied to my mother.

And what hurt most was that I never told mama about what I know, I didn't tell her that her own daughters kidnapper was in our house.

"Oh? You don't talk to her?" She scoffs, not amused. Slapping the door of her locker. "You don't fucking talk to her Saint?"

I groan, rubbing my forehead. "It's seven in the fucking morning, please chill out with that screaming T."

"I don't care, Saint!" Her annoyed tone boomed out, she frowned still having her arms folded together. "When you talk to someone on the low that means you don't speak to no bitch other than me. You really breathed around that bitch I could gag on you."

"Now you're dragging shit." I chuckle, playing with the straps of my bookbag swinging on the spot. "I need to breathe. Fuck, you want me to die?"

"Yes! Because you talk to her. And then she bragged about it in my face like she was going to win a medal. I would fight her if I wanted to. Like I did say that whoever wanted smoke with you swipe up," She scoffs, amused.

"But scary didn't swipe up."

I shook my head, "You scaring the bitches away like dominos Tequila."

She shrugs not caring, loosing the attention she had on me slowly directing her attention at solánge, giggling on with her friends not paying us any mind.

I knew it was going to tick her so much if I jerked my head around, not knowing I had so many girls I found attractive lined up in my mind.

Man, I'm a hoe by communication.

"Stop staring at her," I grab a hold of her forearm, pulling her back so her attention only stayed on mine. "She'll think you're jealous, i'on like that."

"Because I am. You're entertaining other females. I'm not going to take you serious anymore Saint, especially when you asked if I was pregnant. We never fucked, you're so weird!"

"I was just—" I sigh in my palms, dropping my head whilst shaking it in embarassment. She didn't even let me have the chance to explain myself,

Tequila gave me that ‘i'm tired of you’ look and walked away with nothing coming out of her mouth.

The following day was like every other school day. Work, sleep, basketball, laugh and eat air from time to time when there was no food.

I never liked the cafeteria food because it always made my stomach churn in all sorts of ways, and packing food seemed so weird— maybe because there was nothing in the fridge.

I was supposed to go with my sister ways back but our small ‘beef’ always interfered with everything.
