You and Eddie drove for what seemed like a good twenty minutes down familiar roads until you began to have suspicions about where he was taking you. As his car slowed down and he pulled to the side you stared straight ahead officially questioning his motives

"Eddie. Why the hell are we at Lovers Lake?" You asked hesitantly and looked at him with a questioning face.

He smiled to himself and got out of the car leaving you there.

"This guy is crazy", you thought to yourself as you unbuckled your seat belt and followed after him down to the dock.

Lovers Lake was a place where people went to, ya know, love each other and you had no inkling why he would take you here. But you had to admit it was pretty serene and beautiful. The sound of birds flocked to a nearby tree and the water was like glass, blowing ever so slightly with the midday breeze. During this time of day all of its usual inhabitants were busy in class, so no one was around.

You stood next to him as he stared looking out over the water not making a sound.

"Ya know, this is lovely and all but this is where you wanted to go with me?" You looked over to him with amusement on your face. "I mean, we're at Lovers Lake. Like, Lovers Lake" you slightly laughed.

He shrugged his shoulders and sat down on the dock looking up at you.

"I think I know where we are, Sage. But look at it..." his arms motioned outward toward the water. "Beats sitting in the dark woods", he Cheshire grinned up at you.

You rolled your eyes, realizing he was right, and took a seat beside him. You quickly began playing with some loose pebbles not ready to fully give in to the idea of being there with him.

"Don't worry. No one's gonna be around", he murmured knowing exactly what you were thinking as he laid down on his back squinting up at the sky.

You scoffed at him and tried to skip the last rock you had before laying next to him.

"I don't care about that", you murmured back and he side eyed you and raised his eyebrow.

You met his gaze and you both started laughing knowing you absolutely did care.

"I wish I didn't", you sighed as you looked back up at the sky while he kept his eyes on you, pondering.

"Then don't", he said like it was that easy. You looked back at him once again meeting each other's gaze and you shrugged your shoulders.

"It's not that simple- I mean for you sure, hot girl, down by the lake, but for me it's-"

"hot girl with the freak", he interrupted you as his lips turned into a straight line.

You slightly frowned not wanting to make eye contact as you were uncomfortable with the fact that you cared so much about the social hierarchies and what others thought.
