"Please tell me that's not what I think it is." Chrissy stared at you and Eddie's hoodie with wide eyes.

Whoever coined the phrase 'Deer in the headlights' had clearly never met Chrissy Cunningham and her big blue doe eyes. That deer probably looked calm as hell compared to how she looked right now.

You shot her a snarled lip and then fixed the hood that was suffocating your anxious body. Today's lunch crept up your throat as you tried to breathe. Bile was not something you wanted to taste right now.

"Sure is", you replied before exhaling and wiping your hands on your pants. Jesus.

"You are one crazy bitch, but honestly I kinda love it". She smiled to herself, imagining all the ways her best friend was wild as she drove you to Eddie's.

About twenty minutes prior to you getting into her car, you had a nice little chat with your mother. Over what felt like hours, which showed to only be a couple of minutes, you decided to call her every name under the sun and then get your car taken away for the week. She threatened public transportation on you to get to and from school, but that idiot forgot you weren't the only high schooler with wheels who lived in suffocating Hawkins. Or should you say, who was suffocating in Hawkins. Within seconds Chrissy was on her way to get you to drive you to where you felt most safe. She didn't mind not being your go-to safe space, seeing as how it was later in the evening and her mom was home. If there was anyone you don't want to be around when you're in a sour mood, it's her mother. So she settled on being your safe-space-getaway-driver. Now all you had to internally wrestle with was the fact that Chrissy of all people was driving you to Eddie's. Where Eddie lived. In his little house— no, scratch that— in his little trailer. In his little trailer park. Once again, where Eddie lived. Which you're not embarrassed of, it's a means of living, but something about Chrissy taking you there breached all terms and agreements regarding how comfortable you were, and what information people had about you and him. It made your skin crawl with anxiety.

"Just call me if you need a ride home or something", she offered.

You let her know he might take you home, and you tried your best to ignore her pesky beady eyes silently telling you that you were wild. She already told you that ten times in the car anyway. The tension was thick within your body as her tires rolled slowly up the dirt road. She clearly had no thoughts about being at his place but something in the back of your mind said this was much too close to home.

The car lurched to a halt outside and she put the car in park. "Your castle awaits". She smirked at you knowing damn well what she was doing.

The glare you shot her shut her up instantly and then you gave her a quick hug before walking up to the door. Even though you had about fifteen minutes to mentally prepare yourself for your best friend to see your whatever-he-was' house, nothing could have prepared you for a shirtless Eddie opening the door. Chrissy's eyes widened again and she immediately put her car in drive.
