Chapter 20
I woke up the next morning feeling as sleepy as ever. I rolled over and red the red digits flashing on my alarm clock: 6:30. Good, I’ll just sleep for a couple of minutes, I thought in my head getting cozy once again. Returning back to dreamland I found myself standing in the middle of a room. I looked around but didn’t recognize where I was so I headed towards the big oak door. I opened it slightly and peeked outside but no one was in the hallway. I let out a sigh of relief and stepped out into the hallway continuing my mysterious adventure when I felt a hand on the small of my back. I spun around and almost screamed. It was the green goblin king! “Hello little cherry” he smirked and then I screamed, snapping back to reality.
I looked at the time and realized it was 7:15. “Holy shrimp!” I shouted and rushed out of my bed. I had no time to dwell on my nightmare as I was running extremely late. I let the cold water coming from the shower head calm me down before drying myself and changing into a pair of short shorts, black tights with little skulls everywhere and tank top. My hair was still wet after drying it so I left it open and wore my hoodie on top. I quickly applied some make up and run downstairs, carrying my bag with me.
“Good-” mum began but I rushed past her, grabbed a cereal bar and kissed her goodbye. I practically half ran and half ate my breakfast to school checking the time every so often. Luckily I was able to make it into the hall for assembly just as our head teacher started speaking. I stood along with everyone else and waited to sit down. “Please take a seat” the head teacher said and we all sat back in our chairs. I chucked my empty cereal bar wrapper into my bag and got comfy in my chair, my heart rate returning to normal. Our head teacher began droning on about a topic which I couldn’t care less about as I looked out the window.
After assembly I made my way to my first class earning a few winks from the guys because of my short shorts but I just rolled my eyes. I suddenly remembered Aaron and wondered if he was here today, we really needed to talk. We had Chemistry first thing and I made sure to switch off my phone before entering the class. Mr. Smith was really strict and had enough free time to stay with you two hours after school for detention. He followed the school rules really closely and was really boring. “Good morning class” he said in his usual monotone voice. “Today we’re going to start the lesson with a fun quiz” he explained handing out lined paper to everyone. “Great” someone from the other end of the class muttered sarcastically. Mr. Smith shot him/her a look before going back to his desk and starting the quiz.
At break I went to the canteen to buy some lunch, I hated waiting in the long queue at lunchtimes so I usually bought my lunch at break times unless there was good food at lunch. I bought a chicken and sweet corn sandwich roll and stuffed it in my bag for lunch. I went to the benches located infront of the field and sat down on an empty one switching on my phone. I text Aaron ‘Where are you?’ and waited for his reply. After staring at my phone for a good couple of minutes I sighed and gave up. I hope things don’t become really awkward between us. Just then a girl with raven black hair walked up to me and sat down. I gave her a curious look and she extended her hand. “I’m Reagan” she explained, I shook her hand. “Selena” I said.
“I know, I’ve heard about you” she said smirking at me. I rolled my eyes.
“Let me guess, I’m a rapist/murderer/slut?” I asked her, annoyed. She grinned causing my annoyance to spike. “Well Yh I’ve heard those things but that’s not why I wanted to talk to you” she said.
“Why DO you want to talk to me then?” I asked her.
“Well I’ve been watching you…..”She began. Way to make friends, stalker I thought sarcastically. “And I’ve decided that if you want….you can hang out with us sometimes, ya know, smoke a ciggie etc” she proposed. I laughed.
