I yawned and stretched my arms out. I sat up and looked around realizing I was still in my room. Then in a rush all of yesterday’s events hit me. I swore lightly under my breath and pushed aside my blanket, getting out of bed. I stole a quick glance at the clock before I went into the bathroom; it was 7:30 and man, was I late! I quickly showered and threw on a pair of blue jeans and an orange t-shirt with a grey hoodie on top. I quickly brushed my teeth and just tied my hair into a loose bun.
Then, I took the stairs two at a time with my school bag in my hand. I grabbed a croissant in a packet and rushed out the door. I half ran, ate and walked to school. As I entered the school gates I heard the old rusty school bell ring, signaling the start of form time. I threw the rest of my croissant in a bun and ran to my classroom. Everyone looked up at me and I blushed lightly. Mr Kanae gave me a slight nod and I went to my desk. I slung my schoolbag off my shoulders and sat down.
After registration I walked to my next lesson which just happened to be Art. Aaron’s face appeared in my head and I blushed. “What are you blushing at” someone asked. I turned around to see Aaron Skiezer. “Speak of the devil” I muttered under my breath but he seemed to have heard because he let out a small smile. Just then Mrs Susanne ushered us in. I took my seat next to Aaron.
Mrs Susanne rubbed her hands together in excitement. “Alright” she said suddenly making me jump and Aaron giggle. “Today’s the day you’ve all been waiting for!” she said excitedly. “We’re going to be starting your projects!” she explained. Everyone cheered. “Ok, but today you aren’t going to draw everything. Today you’re each going to practice drawing an aspect of your parents face. For example, their eyes” she explained and we set off.
Aaron said he wanted to draw me first. “Can I at least see what you’re drawing?” I asked him annoyed. He wouldn’t show me what he was drawing, instead just told me to be quiet and wait. “I’m done!” he said finally. I rolled my eyes and he showed me the drawing. “Whoa!” he suddenly said. I looked at him with confusion in my eyes. “It just looked like your eyes were going to come out of your head for a moment” he laughed. I rolled my eyes. He’d drawn my entire face and hair and I had to admit it was impressive.
At BREAK I met up with my good old friend Abigail. “Abi!” I shouted running up to her. She crushed me in a bear hug and acted like we’d not seen each other for over a year. We both giggled like idiots at this girl wearing her skirt inside out then went to our locker. Abigail sighed. “Ah, feels like I haven’t laughed in ages” she said smiling. I smiled back and got out my Chemistry and English book. Then we stood by the lockers and chatted till the bell rang. “Bye Bye” Abigail said wriggling her eyebrow. I giggled. “Bye” I said and walked to the Science block.
“Good morning students” Mr. Smith’s booming voice cut through my day dream. We all sat down at our desks and he begun the lesson. “Sadly your lovely experiment days are over. Now we are starting a new topic ‘Metals’ which we shall continue until the end of the year. Now, this topic is very vital for your end of year test. I know that you might have touched on this topic in year 9 however now we are going to study this in detail” Mr. Smith explained. We started learning about the properties on metals and in detail on each property.
The lesson flew which was quite surprising as the lesson was NOT fun! The next thing I knew I was walking to the English block. We were going to look at Media for the rest of the term which was only a few lessons left. I still couldn’t get my head around the fact that I was going to be in year 10 next year! I felt so old! “Good morning lovely people” Ms. Holt said. She was a thin woman who looked more like a teenager than a high school teacher. She had strawberry blonde hair and big beautiful chocolate eyes. We were analyzing magazine front covers which actually proved to be quite interesting.
