Chapter 31
Scott's P.O.V
“Scott!!! Wake up!!!” I heard a voice but it sounded far away. I was still dreaming, dreaming about Selena, my Selena. I was shocked when someone started shaking me. I groaned and tried to elbow them. “Go away” I growled. I heard a faint sigh before I was flooded with icy cold liquid. I instantly shot out of bed and glared at the women standing before me, my mother. “I told you to wake up” she shrugged. “Change into something nice, we have guests” she explained before leaving me. I rolled my eyes before changing quickly and making my way down the massive staircase of our house.
My ‘father’ was sitting on the dining table alongside my mother and two men both dressed in tux with Bluetooth’s hanging on their ears. “Hello Scott” the man with the sky blue tie greeted with a curt nod. I nodded back politely and took a seat on the table. Omelettes were arranged neatly on 4 plates with 2 jugs on orange juice. The maid behind me placed an omelette on my plate and poured me a glass of juice. “Thank you” I mumbled as she stepped back. They were discussing some business deal as usual. My father was a successful business man and owned a chain of business’s so many people wanted to work with him.
Being the only son of a successful business man didn’t always mean luxury. In fact it was rather the opposite for me. Every day I wished that I could just live a normal stress free life but I guess fate wasn’t on my side. Being an only son meant that all the attention was on you. Being the only son of a BUSINESS MAN only made it worse. I was constantly pressured into keeping up beyond average grades so I could go to the best college and do a business degree. That meant that I couldn’t do what I wanted and had to concentrate on a boring subject which would help me become like my father. However I didn’t want to become like him. Yh he was rich and had the world practically wrapped around his fingers but that didn’t mean he was happy. He had gazillions of friends and gazillions of houses all over the worlds but it all came with money. If his money disappeared then he’d have nothing, no fake friends and no mansions. I didn’t want that. I just wanted to settle down in a nice small house with my family and have a decent job which paid enough.
“Scott?.........Scott?” someone asked snapping me out of my train of thoughts. I looked up to see my mother giving me a weird look and looked around to find I was still sitting at the dining table. I shrugged and stood up. After packing my bag for today’s books I dressed like ‘a smart boy’ and made my way downstairs to the limo. “Good morning sir” the driver said. I simply nodded and he drove off to school.
I always got the driver to stop at the nearest cafe to our school so I could change my outfit. There was no way I was going to school looking like a dorky kid. That would ruin my bad boy reputation. Every girl wanted to be with me but unlike the other boys as this school I wasn’t about to ditch my Selena (even though we weren’t technically together) for some desperate girl. After that I slung my backpack over my shoulder and walked the few minutes to school.
“Scotty ma boy, you’re here!” my friend Chad greeted. Chad unlike me was a typical blonde and blue eyed boy. He was also one that girls died for since he was the schools quarterback. He even looked it with a decent amount of muscle on his body. He also had one piercing which made girls swoon. “Hey mate” I replied as we walked to the main building. The bell rang just then so we parted ways.
School flew by with the usual lessons and soccer and soon enough the limo came to pick me up. I was greeted with only a house full of servants when I arrived home. “Where are my parents?” I asked one of the maids. “They’re out on a celebratory meeting sir” she replied before scurrying off. I sighed before going upstairs to my room.
