Chapter 2
It was a boy. An ordinary boy! What about the wolf head? I asked myself in my head. "Who are you? And what are you doing in my back garden?" I asked him a bit too loudly. He jumped at the sound of my voice but stayed quiet. "So?" I asked again. This time my curiosity rising. "I.........I" he began. He had a beautiful soft voice which sounded even softer now that he was worried. "Look, I don't know who you are or why you're here but what I saw was kinda shocking" I stated since he clearly wasn't speaking. "Look, Selena" he began again. I raised my eyebrows.
"How do you know my name?" I thought aloud.
"I.....ummm.... I heard about you" he answered.
"How? What did you hear? How did you hear about me?" I asked.
"Cut it out with the questions okay? Do you like, love asking questions?" he asked. I must have looked shocked because he quickly said "Look, that's not important right now. All that's important is that no one knows about what you saw. No one should know a word" he explained. I nodded. Then with that he walked away like nothing had happened.
So then I also walked away, back to my bedroom. I pulled on my duvet once again and as soon as my head hit the soft pillow I fell asleep.
I woke up the next morning at seven in morning. I yawned then pushed aside my duvet. I walked to the bedroom and showered. Then I changed into a pair of white Capri pants and a blue tank top. Then I went downstairs and made myself some cereal. After eating that I went upstairs and grabbed my phone and bag. I got my long blue jacket and walked out the door, locking it. It was a terrible rainy day so I pulled on my hat.
I arrived at school late so I ran to my first class. Chemistry. It was very boring and I was relieved when it ended. I met Abigail near my locker. "Hey" she said when she spotted me. Abigail was my best friend, my only friend. I didn't really like being with other girls because I didn't trust them but Abigail was someone who I could trust. On my first day I had to partner up with her because she was the only one left. From then on we had become great friends.
"Hi" I replied.
"Well, you look terrible. Are you ok?" she asked. I nodded.
"Let's just say I've been worse" I answered. She just sighed, she looked exhausted and like she hadn't slept well, maybe even not at all. We walked towards the corridors. "Mum and dad have gone on a business trip to Luton. Gonna be back by seven."
Slowly a sly smile started to appear on her face.
"Oh no. Don't tell me it's one of your crazy ideas which usually end up with us getting into trouble" I guessed.
"How about we hang out?" she suggested, hooking her arm in mines and dragging me towards our form for break registration.
"When?" I asked.
"At your house today and then we can go to Jake's house for a mini party." She explained. "What?!" I asked pulling away.
"Pleaseeeeee. Pretty Pleaseeeeee" she said.
"No!" I stated. 'No way was I going to risk going to a party and then racing my parents to get home first' I thought.
She looked at me with puppy dog eyes. I sighed and gave in. "Uh, fine!" I said.
"Thanks soo much Selena. This is going to be so good" she said.
"Yh, right" I muttered sarcastically under my breath.
The day passed surprisingly quickly and I moaned loudly when the bell rang to end the school day. Janett, a girl from my English class gave me a weird look. I ignored her and stomped out of class walking to the school gate to meet Abigail. When she spotted me she waved me over. I walked towards her. "Ready?" she asked ignoring my soft groan. We took the bus straight to my house.
When we arrived at my house it felt so quiet and lonely. Abigail ran to the TV and switched it on turning to BBC where Waterloo Road was on. "Omigod, come here Selena. It's Ben Davies. Aah!" she screamed. I rolled my eyes then tossed my bag on the other sofa and settled in the couch with her.
After that ended it was 5:00 so we ran upstairs and started to get ready for the mini party. Once we had gotten ready we went downstairs and took the bus to Jake's house. I wore a red strapless mini dress, only and only because Abigail had forced me. I would never were such a thing in my life but she forced me. Abigail wore a blue mini skirt and a spaghetti strap top.
When we got to the party the house was completely crowded and 'mini' was a total understatement, this party was literally ginormous and Jake's house was huge. Even huge was an understatement for Jake's house which was more likely a mansion. The party was boring and as usual Abigail was really loopy and drunk. So, I literally had to help her to my house.
We arrived at my house just as mum parked her car in the driveway. I quickly took Abigail to my bedroom and laid her down in my bed before taking of her shoes. Then I changed my clothes into my pyjamas as quickly as possible. After that I rushed downstairs just as mum unlocked the door. Mum eyed me curiously then hung he coat on the coat rack. She took of her black boots and placed them neatly on the shoe rack. Dad followed her then cam towards me. "How's my little princess?" he asked coming towards me and ruffling my hair. "Fine" I answered smiling.
"So how was your day, dad?" I asked, walking towards the kitchen table for dinner.
"Oh, it went great. We even managed to pick up a few deals." He replied. I nodded. Just then an idea popped into my head. "Uh, I already had dinner. I'm just gonna go to bed. I'm really tired" I said. I yawned to add to the effect. I got up from the table and decided to walk fast to my room to avoid mum's questions but I was too slow.
"What did you have for dinner?" she asked in a stern voice, not buying it.
"Well, actually I made a jam sandwich" I hesitated, hoping she'll buy it and to my my surprise she did. So I continued walking towards my room.
Once I arrived I quickly locked the door and went to wake up Abigail. "What...." She began loudly. "Ssh" I told her. Finally she rubbed her eyes and squinted at me. Then when her eyes adjusted to the light she looked at me directly. Her eyes widening as she took in her surroundings. "Don't get too amazed, you're not in planet mars" I said. She rolled her eyes. "Wateve Selena. All, I'm trying at ask is why am I in your room" she asked. "Well done you finally guessed......" another eye roll "well, remember the party? You got drunk so I had to bring you here. Oh, and whisper. Mum might hear" I whisper.
She nods. "Okay, what time is it?" she asks. I search the room for my purple clock and notice the time. "It's 10:15. We better get you home. Look, I have a plan" I say then carefully (and quietly) explain the plan to her.
I lend her one of coats because she's got none and will have to walk home in this freezing weather. I quietly unlock my bedroom door and we both tip toe outside. We tip toe across the corridor past mum and dad's room. We head downstairs quietly to the kitchen. I decided that the back door was the best exit since it wouldn't make much noise. So we tip toe to the back door and I pick up the keys from the counter and unlock it.
I hug Abi goodbye and lock the door again, carefully placing the keys on the counter the way they were. I quickly tip toe back upstairs and am about to make my way across the corridor when mum's door opens. She spots me and frowns. "Selena, what are you doing here?" she asks in a questioning tone. Oh no!
"I...uh... was getting some water. Why, do you want some?" I ask my voice shaky. She narrows her eyes. "Whatever. Just get to bed this instance. Do you understand?" she asks. I nod in reply and rush to my bedroom. I jump in bed and pull my blanket over my head.
Then I close my eyes and watch everything fade into black.
