I was so deep in sleep that I didn’t even realize someone was shaking me madly until they said “Selena, wake up.” My eyes fluttered open instantly and I looked up to see Ethan Glass (the werewolf guy who said he’d come to me at around 12:00) I instantly blushed. “Oh, sorry…..I-I totally forgot.” He smiled knowingly then he nodded and I quickly got up. “Ok, so what do I do? Do I just stay here? Will it hurt?” I asked in a rush. He smiled again.

“You really do love asking questions don’t you?” he said. I blushed again.

“So basically……” he began and then explained everything to me, answering my questions along the way.  He told me that it hurt but I got used to it, it wouldn’t be as bad. He even told me how us werewolf’s couldn’t speak (well nah!) but he told us how we could communicate. He said that werewolves communicated by sending telepathic messages.

After he’d explained every single thing I could ever know about this it was 11:55 and as the clock ticked my heart began to race faster and faster. I was so nervous that I had even begun to sweat. He glanced at me and told me that it was going to be ok. So, we snuck downstairs after locking my bedroom and taking the key. We went to the back garden and left the key under the rug so when I changed back I could take the key and sneak back to my room.

Suddenly, the clock ticked 12 and I started to cry. I couldn’t help it, tears were streaming down my face so fast and I lost control of myself and fell to the cold grass. Ethan tried to console me but I was way out of control. Suddenly, I felt a loud shriek escape me as I started to grow hair (sounds funny, right? Lol, I know) It hurt so much that I didn’t even realize that Ethan was changing as well but he wasn’t crying or looking like he was in so much pain.

After a billion shrieking I looked up and everything seemed so much bigger. I turned and saw a beautiful werewolf with blond fur. It looked up and saw Ethan’s soft blue eyes and knew straight away that it was Ethan. ‘Well done, you’ve made it through your first change!’ said a voice inside my head. I thought I was going crazy but I heard another voice ‘In case you were wondering, which you clearly were, I’m sending you a telepathic message. This is how we communicate, remember?’  I was glad I wasn’t crazy. ‘But how do I do it?’ I asked myself but Ethan replied ‘Just like how you did now. Just pretend you’re talking to me in your mind’ He started walking then and I didn’t know what to do so I just followed.

He led me to the forest behind my garden and it looked just like it had in my dream/vision. We were walking when we were suddenly surrounded by a pack of werewolves and as usual I chickened out and started getting ready to run. But Ethan just sent me a telepathic message ‘Don’t worry, they’re your pack. They’re welcoming you’ I relaxed but still wasn’t completely happy about it.

I followed Ethan and the pack to the dark end of the forest. When we arrived there everyone suddenly stopped. ‘Uh-oh they’re gonna kill me now, aren’t they?’ I asked myself but didn’t realise that I actually sent Ethan a telepathic message until he replied ‘Ha-ha, seriously? We’re not that dumb.’ I wanted to giggle but I seriously didn’t know how to in this unknown wolfs body so instead I just sent Ethan a telepathic message ‘Oh, lol. So why have we stopped?’ I swear I heard him laugh but when I looked at him again there was only a beautiful blond fur staring back at me. ‘You’ll see in a sec.’ .So I waited and waited.

After a while everyone started parting and a beautiful wolf with hazel fur stepped out and started towards me.  I panicked and started stepping back. ‘Don’t be scared, child’ I heard a voice inside my head. ‘In case, you were wondering I’m the leader of this pack. Welcome’ Straight away, I knew who it was. It was the leader of the pack, the leader of my pack. ‘Th-Thank you’ I sent him a telepathic message. I saw the wolf nod.  ‘I’m Derek Wainscot, the leader of our pack. If you need anything please don’t hesitate to ask. You wolf buddy will be Ethan Glass; he’ll assist you and help you get used to your new form of identity.’  Then he left and so did all the other wolves; I was going to follow but I heard a voice in my head ‘Wait!’  I looked around and saw Ethan heading towards me. ‘Oh, sorry. It’s okay you don’t have to follow them, I have to give you a tour first’ I nodded in a wolf like way and followed him. He led me deeper into the forest, pointing out different things about the beauty of the forest.

After he’d showed me the entire forest I started to feel a tummy ache working its way up my stomach and also a slight headache. ‘I feel sick. Oh, and thanks for the tour’ I sent a telepathic message to Ethan. ‘It’s okay, you’re about to change back. It’s almost 7’ he replied in telepathy. I was shocked at his ability to know the time. ‘Werewolves have a creepy ability to know what the time is…..Don’t worry, there are loads of other creepy abilities’ I got really worried and wondered if it’d hurt just as much when I changed. ‘Not really, it’s less painful. But, like I said it’ll hurt lesser and lesser once you get used to it’ I was relieved but still very nervous.

We made our way slowly to the front of the forest.  I could see my house now and it felt so weird to be an outsider, looking up at my house. It made me upset. The weird headache and stomach ache had started growing and it literally felt like I was so hungry but wasn’t at the same time. I felt a loud groan escape me as I started to shed fur. It hurt like hell and I kept growling.

After what seemed like a year of pain I finally changed back to human. I shuddered and winced as the cold wind blew against my soft skin, sending goose bumps all over it. I turned around, expecting to find Ethan standing there but I didn’t see him. Instead I saw a beautiful blond wolf staring up into my eyes. “Ethan” I whispered. ‘It’s okay. I’m going to change back later. I’ll explain why when I change back. Good luck’ I heard a voice in my head.  ‘Jeez, I’ve been hearing lots of voices in my head tonight!’ I thought to myself. ‘It couldn’t be Ethan because he could only send me a telepathic message when I was a wolf, right? I questioned myself.

“Was that you? If it was then how’d you do that? Couldn’t you only do it when I was a wolf?” I asked a wolf who couldn’t even speak! I felt so dumb right then so I turned around and was about to go back inside my house before I could embarrass myself further when I heard another voice. ‘A strong wolf can send telepathic messages to humans who have wolf blood, like you. Don’t worry you’ll get to do it when you get stronger. For now, don’t worry about anything just go home. I’ll see you later. Bye’ I was relieved to discover that I wasn’t just going crazy and that it was actually Ethan sending me telepathic messages.

Ethan turned and padded away and so I went and collected my room key from under the back garden door mat. I opened the door and walked in, everything was pin drop silent so I tiptoed upstairs to the room. As I was tiptoeing upstairs I stole a quick glance at the clock, it was 7:06. I unlocked my bedroom door quickly but quietly and went inside. Then started changing into a suitable pair of Capri pants and a orange t-shirt which read ‘Proud to be awesome’ on the back’ I quickly pulled my long, smooth red hair into a loose braid. Then I rushed to the bathroom, brushed my teeth.

After that I went downstairs with my bag. Dad was away, as usual! But luckily, mum was nowhere in sight. I quickly gulped down a cold glass of milk and grabbed a croissant to eat on my way to school. I wore my multi-coloured sneaks and was just out the door when someone told me to stop. I was expecting to see Ethan but instead I saw mum standing there with her arms crossed wearing her cream coloured night gown. I rolled my eyes and she started towards me slowly. “Look, mum. Whatever it is we can discuss it later. I’m getting really late for school right now.” I explained. But she completely ignored and continued towards me.

I turned around fully planning to run but her next words stopped me. “What happened last night?” she asked. I turned back around to face her as her questioning gaze took me in. Everything stopped for a moment and I felt the air around me get hot and tense. Mums piercing gaze said that she knew I was defiantly up to something. ‘How did she know? Omigod, what if she saw me? Shit!’ “What are you talking about?” I asked her, glaring at her. She shrugged and walked around me in a circle.

“I don’t know. You tell me” she said matter of factly.

“I have no idea what you’re talking about.” I asked her meeting her challenging gaze.

I stole a quick glance at the clock; school was going to start in exactly 5 minutes. “Look, whatever it is. We’ll talk later. I’m really really late!” I said and rushed out the door. I practically run to school.
