I S A B E L L A
As i laid on the overpacked luggage, Lucy zipped it with as much force as she could, even almost breaking the zipper.
Once it was fully zipped she laid on the floor in a star fish position.
"How many clothes did you pack for a week!" She asked, out of breath as her chest rose up and down.
"A lot can happen in a week, it's mostly emergency clothes." I replied, shrugging my shoulders as i got off the suitcase and sat on the floor, my legs crossed.
"And i thought i over packed." Lucy mumbled to herself as she sat up, a strand of her brunette hair falling in-front of her face in the process which she quickly blew away.
My phone pinged breaking the silence. I stretched my body across the floor to grab it off the chair before sitting back up.
It was a message from Ronan telling us he would be here in less that 30 minutes.
"Ronan is gonna be here to pick us up in about 30 minutes." This caused Lucy to roll her eyes and fall back into the floor dramatically.
"What's so wrong with Ronan? I thought you guys hit it off pretty well when you met." I frowned, if i was being honest it kind of sucked to have my only friends have a unnecessary hatred for eachother .
Lucy's eyes snapped to mine. "Does not mean i like him." She mumbled.
I giggled. "I'm sure you'll warm up to all of them once you get to know them more."
"Isabella, i love you but absolutely not." She sarcastically chuckled whilst staring at my ceiling.
"They aren't that bad, Lucy."
"You say that because you are the nicest person ever, you see only the good in people, love." Lucy's voice was calm and soft but at the same time it was persuasive and annoyed.
Maybe i did only see the good in people, and i did sometimes wonder if it was a good thing or if it was one of my biggest weakness.
I ignored Lucy and pushed myself up from the floor, wiping my butt after before extending my arm out to Lucy who instantly wrapped her hand around mine. I pulled her up until she was on her feet.
I placed at arm over her shoulder and hugged my best friend close to me. "This is our first summer together, so let's enjoy it to the fullest." I remarked.
I gave her shoulder a little squeeze with my hand and swayed us a little causing her to crack a smile and nod. Her smile caused me to smile ever wider.
Lucy Roberts was my platonic soulmate.
"I love you, you know that?" I whispered, resting my head on her shoulder as she hugged me back.
Sometimes i worried i would lose her, i worried she'd leave just like everyone else in my life. I worried what it would do to me.
"I love you too, love." She replied, her face was in awe as she held me tighter.
Our hug was cut short when my phone pinged and we heard a car honk. We quickly grabbed our heavy suitcases and left my tiny little apartment.
