I look up after Aaron walks out of the room, my hand on my hip...then quickly toss my hair over my shoulders to allow for more fresh air as I cool down.

I want to have a good time, and just relax....

But it worries me how he makes me feel.

Now I feel so vulnerable and exposed.... Am I supposed to like him so much so fast already?

It terrifies me because falling for him means giving power over yourself to someone else...and I know people, and what people are capable of, and how they change, and how it can lead to being hurt, because I'm already broken enough as it is.

Tonight, feels like going on this really incredible and amazing ride, but constantly keeping my foot on the break, and my eyes on the speedometer to make sure that i don't go too fast, that I don't spiral out of control and crash.

It's a logical strategy, but it's taking away from me fully enjoying the ride.

"Hey, do you want to have the same wine, or mayb...?" Aaron asks, walking back into the room and finds me standing exactly where he left me, with one hand on my hip, the other on the side of my head as I contemplate my thoughts.

"What's wrong?" He asks, watching me from the kitchen door, with a wine bottle in each hand.

I shift on my feet and stand up straight.

"Nothing...was just thinking about something?" I reply.

"What were you saying?" I ask him, grabbing the bread and trying to look busy.

Instead, he walks towards me and puts the bottles next to the bread.

"What were you thinking about?" He asks, looking down at me.

"Nothing.......Nothing important, I promise." I say, whispering the last part when he looks concerned and then feel a bit embarrassed for attracting unnecessary attention.

"Let's have this one." I say, pointing to one of the wine bottles.

His eyes go to the bottle and then back at me, before grabbing it.

"Ok." He winks and I smile.

He is really attractive.

I like when he does that, or when he bites his lip, he looks so good and playful, and it makes me melt inside.

Oh God! I'm way in over my head here.

"So... Raquel...tell me something interesting about you." He murmurs, coming up behind me and saying it over my shoulder.

He puts the glass in front of me, then goes to stand opposite me.

Thank God!

"Well, it depends on what you find interesting." I say charmingly.

"Ok, that's fair." He chuckles.

"Let's see....... alright, what's the craziest or most out-of-character thing you've ever done?" He asks, placing his elbows on the center top.

"Ever? Uhmm...the stuff on the bucket list are all kinda crazy for sure." I chuckle.

"What is your biggest "pet peeve"?" He asks, sipping his wine.

"People that are ill-mannered" I say say with a wrinkle of my nose.

"What's your favorite thing about this city?" He asks.

"You." I reply without hesitation and he laughs and stands up straight.

"Very sly." He says and i chuckle.
